So I was just on Skype helping HK lady read a story to one of the kids she looks after (5-year old, the other is 3) – I handled the sound effects and action scenes. I learnt a bit of Spanish along the way as it was a Spanish/English story – go figure!

All of this is giving me more of an appreciation for the possibilities of the internet than I have had in the past.

[EDIT] Important update, she likes the Beatles!!  :)

My daughter Rosie fell off a step and broke her arm. It turns out toddlers don’t bounce after all :(

She fractured her radius and ulna bones in her forearm. Not a bad break, but she’ll be in plaster for about four weeks. This happened last Friday. She’s doing fine though, as you can see (my phone takes rubbish photos):

aaaw :( And I didn’t manage to break a bone until I was well into my 40’s ( I literally fell out of a cab door and tried to keep my balance and broke my collarbone instead).

Sounds sore but every kid i’ve ever know to break a bone has taken to showing off their stookie as a badge of honour after a few days – plus they have a reason/excuse for getting treats. Heres to a safe and speedy recovery for Rosie.

She’s cute as a button. Is Ted taking special care of his little sister?

Thanks all!

Ted’s reasonably careful with her, but like most 3yos he spends much of his time charging around not paying attention to objects and people on the periphery. But he is very loving towards her.

We’re not writing on her cast (and I think it’s only a temporary one, as she has further x-rays on Monday to check it’s healing OK) but it gets decorated enough with food, snot, dirt etc. Remarkably it’s still mostly white.

@ewe2 Drunken fall?

Well it was blamed on being drunk at the time, but honestly I knew I was falling and tried to run out of it to the road’s edge so the landing would be softer and my feet beat me to it. Of course this meant I couldn’t have it seen to until the next day. Very hard to work in front of a computer with one of them too! And everyone at work thought it was hilarious. But my boss was very cool about it and let me have breaks all the time.

Backing up a large percentage of my music files on to an external hard drive. Exciting times.

For those still tuning in mid-season, things have settled down quite a bit. HK lady and I continue to message, phone and Skype daily and I think we are getting on well. I sent her some early Valentine’s flowers during the week and she was SO happy with them.

Sorry for the lack of drama, I guess this makes dull reading for you; but it’s great for me :)

I’ll only report back again when there are any significant developments. Thanks again for all the support.

FECK!!! Feck, feck, feck!!!! I just slipped and bashed my back!!! Feck, feck, feck!!!!

Luckily, I had a big two-inch spot on my back a few weeks ago I couldn’t reach, that the hospital popped it with all its blood and puss, big BANG! Glad I just broke my back and not that nasty spot. No! Not a Nasty spot, but a nasty spot.

You people! I give up!

Wow – first Rosie’s arm and now RN’s back. Yikes!

@Joe, she looks just like her mum. Give her arm a kiss for me – Rosie that is, not her mum!a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

@Ron Nasty, sorry to hear about the fall. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. In the meantime, no more nasty Nasty falls. a-hard-days-night-ringo-15

Ah Ron Nasty, you are truly having a bad couple of months surely the laws of the universe say you get a couple of good months now?

Oh and I completely agree with the Rosie comments above, she’s adorable and I hope she gets better soon.

I am in the middle of mock exam week and I finished my longest exam today, English Paper 2 which lasts 3 hours and 20 minutes (I survived :O) Now I have Irish Paper 2 tomorrow which should be fun…

My Granddad is sick at the minute which is kind of a downer, he’s got a cold and my mam is up at his house now giving him soup and ice cream. My grand-uncle (my Granddad’s brother) died last week from pneumonia and I don’t want the same thing to happen to my Granddad especially ’cause he’s 80 now where pneumonia is obviously more dangerous than having it as a middle-aged person. :/
