This is tough!
1. The Beatles – The Beatles (White Album )
2. The Who – Quadrophenia
3. The Kinks – The Village Green Preservation Society
4. Blur – Blur
5. The Smiths – Meat is Murder
6. Spock’s Beard – Snow
7. Led Zeppelin – Physical Graffiti
8. XTC – Skylarking
9. Paul McCartney – RAM
10. Mansun – Kleptomania
LOTS of tough choices made to leave certain albums off (and I didn’t want to repeat any artists on my list)

This is a really tough game. Can I just regenerate near death and choose a different set for each personality?
edit: added reasons because i like what some of you have done to explain your choices.
1. Beatles,The Blue 1967-1970 Covers most of my favourites and I’m really familiar with it.
2. Talking Heads,Fear Of Music Tough choice but immensely underrated.
3. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blood Sugar Sex Magick Accidental classic.
4. Frank Zappa, You Are What You Is Accidental concept album that combines some of Franks best aspects.
5. The Specials, The Specials Brilliant.
6. The Pixies, Doolittle You need something to scream to.
7. Radiohead, Ok Computer You need something else to scream to.
8. XTC, English Settlement Another tough choice. However I’m going to borrow @DrBeatle’s copy of Skylarking anyway.
9. The Prodigy, The Fat Of The Land You need Diesel Power to test the system and the rest is just a bonus.
10. Robert Fripp, Exposure: Incredibly dismal, pathetic chord sequence.
11th
1. Get Up (Like A Sex Machine) James Brown: Of course
2. Give Me Every LIttle Thing The Juan Maclean: Follows logically
3. Long Distance Runaround, Yes: happy tunes!
4. Hey Ladies Beastie Boys : Get Funky
5. Fascination Street Extended Mix The Cure: need a bit of angst too.
6. ! (The Song Formerly Known As), Regurgitator: awesome
7. Ramble On, Led Zeppelin: Gollum stole my precious
8. Black And White Boy, Crowded House: Something else to scream to
9. Propellor, Severed Heads: I’m weird
10. Montana (Overnight Sensation version), Frank Zappa: I’m specifically weird.
11. Breed, Nirvana: pure grunge
12. Alsema Dub, Bill Laswell/Jah Wobble: pure dub
13. Tomorrow Never Knows RM11, Beatles: The right mix
14. Once In A Lifetime, Talking Heads: The one song I have to have from Remain In Light
15. Chicken Dog, John Scofield: HAH I CHEATED AND ADDED ANOTHER ONE
There’s about 20 bands really mad at me now for not picking them. I had to be especially mean to a lot of jazz and classical, but I have a good memory for that stuff.

Yay, thread revival so I can make a new list! Again, I’m mixing box sets with single albums. And again, at least one of these only exists in my imagination.
1. Bob Dylan & the Band – The Complete Basement Tapes
2. The Beatles – Complete White Album Sessions, incl. Kinfauns demos, etc. (NOT AVAILABLE)
3. Groundhogs – Split
4. Cecil Taylor – Unit Structures
5. Mötörhead – Complete ‘classic’ lineup (Lemmy/Fast Eddie/Philthy Animal)
6. Beethoven – that every-note-he-wrote box (saw a bunch of ’em last weekend for $99!)
7. Charles Mingus – Complete Atlantic Recordings
8. The Soft Boys 1976-1981 (you guys check ’em out, if you love the Beatles you’ll like the Soft Boys ! and especially if you favour the craziness and hard/soft guitar rocking of late Beatles. Robin Hitchcock wrote songs like John and Paul (and Syd Barret tand Captain Beefheart) combined, and Kimberly Rew and himself bend strings noisily and beautifully. Great bass playing too. Check out “Underwater Moonlight” maybe, it’s considered their best, but they’ve got another three full albums worth of stuff equally great. (Their “Cold Turkey ” cover doesn’t beat the original – how could it? – but still has a great epic guitar freakout.)
9. Stevie Wonder – The Complete Tamla/Motown Recordings, 1963-1987ish
10. Jimi Hendrix, Every note he ever recorded to tape 1100-CD box set (definitely not available)
(Damn, damn, no room for the complete discographies of Miles Davis. Or Joni Mitchell. Or all those unreleased ’70s MX-80 Sound tapes I’ll probably never hear. And except for parts of the Motorhead and Stevie Wonder boxes, there’s nothing to boogie to!)

Congratulations! You just got a glimpse at my non-Beatley side. It shows itself rarely enough, I’m surprised you caught it. But I do have one, y’know.
