It seems to be some sad news today as the supreme court somehow approved of Donald Trump’s immigration ban. I hate how he would prevent innocent people from those 6 countries, who want nothing more than to live a better life in a better country than theirs, from entering our great country and I hate even more that the supreme court allowed this bigotry to happen. To all of those affected, I recommend going to Canada instead as they don’t seem to have a problem with you guys and the conditions there are a lot better than in your countries. It really pisses me off how anti-immigration America has become, especially considering how the majority of Americans originally immigrated here from other countries.

What Donald Trump and I consider a great America are 2 different things. My perfect America is a multicultural country filled with people from various ethnicities who can come and go as they please without any problems similar to many European countries except with more ethnic minorities. Trump on the other hand wants to keep immigrants from coming to the US for whatever reason.

Good point but not everybody wants to live in America, there’s other great countries out there like the vast majority of Europe, Canada, and Australia where people are fine living so letting in a few undocumented immigrants isn’t going to cause overpopulation. But if we really want to make the world a better place, we can make 3rd world countries more inhabitable by doing things like replacing Sharia law with more modern laws, having a president and democratic elections, and building things like housing and ways to easily get running water there so the people living in those countries have jobs so they can have an income so they have places to live and then other people will want to move in, especially now that more modern laws are in place that are fair to all human beings and 1 person doesn’t have all the power.

Doug Jones giving victory speech.
There’s hope when Alabama just cannot bring itself to vote in conscience for the candidate put forward by the far-right of the Republican party.
The Republicans should have forced Roy Moore out of the run, instead the President supported him.
Luckily, the good people of Alabama did not.

When I heard on the news this morning that Moore was defeated, I did cartwheels. No easy feat as I was driving at the time.

@Zig Ah, we wondered where you stood on the issue… little did we imagine that you cartwheeled on it.

Hopefully it’s just the beginning of America showing it’s disdain for Trump’s presidency. I doubt Trump will even pretend to care what any results are tho, he’ll probably claim it’s all fake and everyone actually loves him.

Sorry but that doesn’t appear to be the case. This is one of those loud minority quiet majority things, although there are many people against Trump there’s more people for him, whether it be your old fashioned Republicans, modern day conservatives like Hunter Avallone and Milo Yiannopolous, or the alt right, all fairly large groups which are mostly silent that support Trump and love the things he has done so far. On the other hand you have the independents and liberals who are very loud about how much they hate Trump and while there are quite a few of these people they are still a minority in this case just like during the Vietnam War. To be completely honest with you, I think he will be getting a 2nd term in 2020, it’s sad but probably true.

Yeah, because it’s not like people were protesting for weeks about him winning the election or anything.

I meant in the polls. There were protests in the lead up to the Elections and he still got in.

I wish it worked that way, where the person with the most votes wins but sadly that’s not actually the case for whatever reason. What actually happens is that each state wins a number of representatives that all represent 1 person and whoever has more representatives wins. So in this case, more people voted for Hillary but Trump got more representatives because he won the bigger states. This is what really sucks about our current 2 party system (that and everybody’s afraid to vote 3rd party even when they’re better than both candidates) and is why we need to fix it.

If representatives were proportional it would be as bad.
