Trying to enforce something that is unconstitutional is not necessarily the same thing as taking away constitutional rights. Technically, the people he wants to ban have no constitutional rights in this country, as they are not citizens, so he really can’t take rights away from them. Isn’t that how it works? Or do non-Americans have constitutional rights in this country before they are here?

It doesn’t matter whether the Muslims affected by the Executive Order are citizens or noncitizens, visa holders, green card holders, or refugees. The Equal Protection Clause prohibits “deny[ing] to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” The Supreme Court made this clear in Plyler v. Doe, when it struck down a denial of school funds to the children of undocumented parents, protecting the rights of non-citizen children in Texas. This means that all foreign travelers on U.S. soil—those waiting at U.S. airports, for example—are protected.

At least she doesn’t secretly call you Ronald McNasty and repaint your avatar to look like this.
Anyways, carrying on, I hope you guys realize that Trump isn’t like Hitler in the sense that he can’t just do as he pleases, everything has to go through congress first.
Can I be Ronald McNasty please?
No you feckin’ can’t! Not unless you want your Dylan to dry up!
Straight out of Stephen King and scares the crap out of me. That’s a nasty Nasty, and I really try not to be most of the time.

Isn’t the basic picture Trump tried to force thru an order that otherwise wouldn’t have gotten thru as not even enough Republicans would have voted for it? It was then blocked as it was seen in the small courts to be unconstitutional.
What Trump is doing is the biggest challenge to the US foundations for many years. The lingering question thru all of this is can Trump strategically place enough people who he can influence so he can get it thru regardless of the enormous ill-feeling out there. He’s not going to stop until he has no more moves, it’s how he does business and built his empire. The comments by himself (and his aides) in regards to Ivanka losing yet another clothing contract are those of over-protective, over-pushy parents trying to protect their spoilt daughter from not getting the big present at another kid’s party. Instead of comforting the child and encouraging her to grow and learn from the setback

Instead of comforting the child and encouraging her to grow and learn from the setback it’s throw a strop to try and get her way, blaming the big bad nasty people .
As for the Pastor Martin Niemöller quote, people of all races, genders, religions etc are speaking out as can be seen by the mass protests all over the world, not only in American.

What, no Bay City Rollers?
I have a dozen or so singles on vinyl. Much affection as my older sister was a big fan. The first song I leant off by heart was a b-side of theirs, Maryanne…
And the library on this laptop is still being built. The Beatles are still a couple of hundred discs absent, and Bob probably around the same. I added 17 Bob discs just yesterday.

Rollermaniacs, eh!
I do agree with the basic idea of a Trump travel ban.
I think his potty should be nailed to the floor somewhere out of sight in Washington, with an ankle bracelet strapped on that’ll deliver him 20,000 volts if he wanders any further than 20 yards from his potty or tries enacting anymore Executive Orders.

Oh, I disagree. I think he should be heartily encouraged to travel someplace else entirely – preferably someplace with no cell towers or wifi – and stay there indefinitely.

Whilst it is no doubt nice to have people supporting you I doubt high up on the list of those you want doing it for you would be Robert Mugabe, however Donald Trump is the recipient of such comments.
President Donald Trump should be given a chance to prove himself, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe says.
He went on to express his support for Mr Trump’s America-first policy, saying “America for Americans” and “Zimbabwe for Zimbabweans”…
… “When it comes to Donald Trump… talking of American nationalism, well America for America, America for Americans – on that we agree. Zimbabwe for Zimbabweans,” Mr Mugabe said.
As far as the nonagenarian president is concerned, there is more hope with Mr Trump in the White House than if it had been Hilary Clinton.
“I was surprised by his election, but I did not like Madam Clinton to win either,” he said.
“I knew she could slap sanctions on us as a legacy.”
President Mugabe, Africa’s oldest head of state, also repeated that he is not ready to step down from power.
“The majority of the people feel that there is no replacement, successor who to them is acceptable, as acceptable as I am,” he told state media.

The latest from Amerikkka:
Republican crowd at CPAC waved Russian flags during Trump speech.
Bannon went on TV and announced plans to dismantle the administrative state. This is why for each government agency they have chosen an enemy of that agency to lead it.
Also, the White House banned CNN, the BBC, and New York Times from entering their press briefing today.
When are people going to wake up?

Bannon is a dangerous man. One gets the feeling that the chaos and apparent incompetence in the White House is deliberate, a step in the direction of forcing the shutdown of our federal government so he can mold its replacement in his terrible extreme right wing vision. Whatever most Trump voters wanted or thought they were getting, I’m pretty sure dismantling the government wasn’t it.
As for the selective exclusion of certain members of the press, well it speaks for itself. To my knowledge that has never occurred in American history. Dangerous and disheartening.
Our best hope is to continue liberal activism and to demand that moderate republicans join us in resisting the transformation of our country into a dictatorship.
