Okay, folks! Nobody’s commented! Let me be the first. What a fecking nutter! How to throw the world into disorder in one easy lesson.
The edict breaks the constitution all over the place, though Trump supporters applaud him obviously ignoring the constitution while they slammed Obama for what, at worst, were minor infractions. Trump has just trampled over multiple amendments of the constitution, as well as international human rights treaties it has signed.
His order is already being defeated in the courts, and I hope the Supreme Court grabs hold of it quick to teach him the limits of his newfound power.
The man is total scum. 9/11 – 15 of those involved came from Saudi Arabia. So Saudi must be on the list, surely? No,
hethe Trump family have investments in Saudi Arabia, you wouldn’t want to piss those off. The Boston bombings! Those were Islamists with a foreign origin. Surely their country of origin is on the list? Oh, they came from the Russian Caucasus’. We don’t want to piss off the Russians. The San Bernardino shootings? Origin? Pakistan. Okay, maybe we’ll add that one to the list. Were you to do a Venn diagram, there would be no overlap between those countries whose citizens have made terrorist attacks on American soil and those countries whose citizens have been banned.
This is a moment for any American who believes in their country to be ashamed. Always remember, Hitler was elected, and then dragged his people into the greatest catastrophe of the 20th Century.
The same can happen again unless we keep on our guard.
I watched Trump do this spiel about how under Obama Muslims fleeing Syria were given preference over Christians (without providing any evidence of that), and that Syrian Christians should be prioritised, while a Syrian Christian family who had visas and were on the refugee programme were turned because he had cancelled every Syrian refugees visa.
A country that says it will no longer take a single refugee from the worst war-torn areas of the world anymore should be ashamed.
yeah but
That seems to kill all arguments against from Trump’s supporters.

I’ve been keeping quiet about the “current events” but it’s really just too much to bear. The “immigration” policy is terrifying and outrageous, unconstitutional and even incompetent. I kept telling myself this president couldn’t do anything too outrageous, couldn’t effect a fascist coup because of our constitution’s checks and balances.
Turns out I was wrong. It’s taken a week to get where we are right now.
Another week and the troops will be goose-stepping in Times square.

Yes, and some of our fellow forum members will probably be posting on this thread soon telling us we should give Trump a chance. Meanwhile, we descend into chaos and World War III as our president implements racist policies, attacks the press, silences the EPA and other scientists from sharing their findings, bans the national park system from tweeting facts about climate change, prepares to sell off our national parks and/or use them for oil drilling, terrorizes native Americans and steals their land to build an oil pipeline that will destroy the environment, pushes “alternative facts,” and attempts to delegitimize the court system.
Not to mention that he has made Breitbart master-mind Steve Bannon, who beat his wife and complained that his children had to attend school with Jews, the top-ranking military official in our country.
And Trump admitted to intentionally omitting the Jews from his Holocaust Remembrance Day speech.

Let’s hold off on throwing around terms like WWIII. Things are going downhill, but weve seen liberals and conservatives alike start to panic when the opposite party gets elected. I don’t like Trump one bit, but the situation isn’t as bad as it was in the forties.

I was in no panic when Bush was elected.
This is nothing like that.
The “new normal” is anything but normal.

This wouldn’t be the forties, this would be the twenties and thirties.

Obviously Breitbart employees will defend him. That’s like asking your black maid if you are racist.
Here’s another viewpoint:

Bannon is the one responsible for ensuring that legal green card holders would not be allowed in the country under the Muslim ban.

Pastor Martin Niemöller made this important and famous statement about how the Nazis spread their tentacles during the ’30s:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out — Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out — Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out — Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak for me.
These are not normal times. This is not a normal “the other side won! feck!” If we had Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio or Ted Cruise, etc., in the White House right now I’d be moaning, but I wouldn’t be scared. President Trump and his Executive Orders scare me.
I hoped he would prove a different President to the candidate he had been. It’s seeming like the candidate was reined in compared to what we’re seeing from the President.
“Alternative facts” are the lies dictators prop themselves up on. North Korea is a country that’s forced to live on “alternative facts”. Great example to mimic.
I really did hope that as President he wouldn’t scare me. I did.
This fecking lunatic is scaring the s**t out of me though. I can’t help it. You’ve made a drunk the designated driver!

This is one of the many disgusting effects of his Executive Order, @Starr Shine?. He has banned indefinitely all Syrian refugees, which includes the Syrian Christians he indicated in his campaign should be welcomed with open arms. Obama may not have let in as many Syrian Christians as Trump wanted, but he’s just banned every Christian from any of those countries banned entering the US.
So, no, religion makes no difference – he’ll discriminate against every religion. Maybe building a Trump International in Baghdad might help.

What a surprise, Trump will get a State visit. May needs to get some backbone and stand up to Trump instead of doing what it takes to maintain healthy relationships. Whispering “ooh, what a bad thing to do” when he isn’t near is pathetic.

Donald Trump has sacked acting-Attorney General Sally Yates for saying that his travel ban is probably illegal, calling her honestly held legal opinion a “betrayal”.
The quicker this reaches the Supreme Court, which is where it’s ultimately headed with courts in six states having blocked elements of it, the better…
These are strange days indeed. Most peculiar.

As a person that doesn’t perfectly fit into Trump’s favourite “straight, white, conservative Christian male” category, I genuinely fear for my life. If nothing is put in place to make up for murdering the Affordable Care Act, I won’t be able to afford my life-saving medication even with a high-paying job because the prices of medicines are skyrocketing to completely ridiculous levels. As usual, my opinions pretty much perfectly align with @Ron Nasty so I don’t have much else to add.
