Oh America, I’m so sorry for you..
Woke up this morning, immediately checked how things were going and as it looked like then, Trump was about to win, but it wasn’t final yet. I immediately felt sad. I’m not saying Clinton was a good candidate. No, it was picking between two bad things. But how could one ever accept a lying, discriminating, woman assaulting racist idiot to be president? How can you sell this to your children? ”It’s not okay to bully and discriminate, but no one gives a s**t because you CAN make it to the White House”.
America didn’t choose someone who is slightly better than Clinton in their eyes. America chose racism.
Also, I really wonder what consequences this presidency will have for us in Europe, and more specifically in the Netherlands where I live. I have read various articles where they’ve been discussed, but I wonder how much of it will be reality.

I can’t personally justify Clinton in any aspect, no matter how much you hate Trump for being whatever the heck he is. Hillary’s just pure evil.

But finally, take a look at the political map. Trump’s victory was in the Rust Belt states, which used to be the greatest industrial center in the world, but have since been cored out by deindustrialization. President Obama, in the context of running against a Wall Street plutocrat, did rather well in these places.

Offline Isn’t there something incredibly tragic about the fact that, on the anniversary of the Berlin Wall coming down – something called for by a Republican US President, Americans elect a so-called Republican as President who wants to build new walls?
Isn’t there something to be ashamed about when the first black President of the United States has to hand over to someone who was endorsed by the Ku Klux Klan, and who refused to reject that endorsement?
And the fear has to be, with a Republican House and Senate, and the chance to take the Supreme Court, the stench of this election may hang over the country for decades to come.
We are in for an interesting ride if Trump delivers, or tries to deliver, on his campaign promises. And an interesting ride if he delivers on few or none. Better buckle in folks. I have a feeling this is going to be bumpy, one way or another.
