I woke up with a migraine, sensing something was horribly wrong, and it was. First, I tried to calm myself by hugging my cats. Then, I reckoned an overdose of Beatles music might do the trick. Next was ranting on the phone with my mum, who felt much the same, and I ended up going out to buy some chocolate. Whilst my headache is gone, the dread remains. I’m not in a position to be callous about politics and even though I live halfway across the world, we will see the effects of this election result. I can’t help but wonder: if people are so keen on being anti-establishment, why did they vote Trump? I mean, can it get more establishment than voting Republican? There were unassociated candidates; voting for them would have been a true signal against TPTB. All the achieved now is to create more tension. And no, I’m not a Hillary fan. I just can’t understand how or why this happened.
Perhaps it was anti-establishment, voting for Republican. People didn’t buy into the liberal propaganda.
Anyway, the whole campaign on both the sides was despicable. It was more of a “don’t vote for the other person” thing, rather than ” why should you vote for me?”.
If the candidate had been Bernie Sanders, I’m sure he would’ve won by a landslide.
P.S. This is just the way I view it from the outside, of course.

I honestly didn’t think Trump had any chance of winning. I didn’t even stay up to watch it because I was sure Hillary was going to win it so I figured there was no point. Then I got woken up at one thirty in the morning by the people on my floor screaming Bohemian Rhapsody. I was super mad at first because I didn’t think that was an appropriate time to be doing that, but then I saw Trump was winning so I went to sleep happy. I definitely don’t like Trump, but I dislike Clinton more than I dislike Trump.

Every election is like that and it’s an embarrassment to this country. All the ads they play that say horrible things about one candidate and then at the end the other candidate says “I am ___ and I support this message” are such bad taste. Then my whole Facebook feed the past few months has been people arguing about the candidates and calling each other names for who they support. It makes me so sad and disappointed in this country for all the hate that people have. and how judgmental everybody is.

Perhaps it’s bad memory, but I don’t remember any such thing during the Romney vs. Obama thing. I think they highlighted more of what they did, wanted to do, etc. And they were both quite respectful. It felt like a Presidential debate.
Whereas with Trump vs Hilary – it was about his sexual assaults vs. Billy Boy’s sexual assaults, how Hilary turned a blind eye, and mudslinging, and more mudslinging. It felt like watching Big Brother or some such thing.

This was worse than Obama vs Mint in terms of candidates perception.

Paul’s candidate didn’t win the presidency. Did Ringo every say who he was supporting?

George would have probably been like, ‘You know, I’m really quite optimistic about everything, cos on the universal scale of things, it doesn’t matter too much — All Things Must Pass , after all. In the meantime, it’s crap. Hare Krishna.’
I think he did say something like that once, though in the long-tangled backlog of my George trivia collection I have no idea where.

I fixed it for you.
Personally, I don’t wonder what they would have thought about it because they’re not American (though I suppose John might have become American by now, but I’m not sure if that was his goal ?), so their opinions on it would be irrelevant just like Paul’s.

I respect the rights of others to have an opinion. But let me just state an opinion of my own: If you are a Beatles fan and a Trump supporter, you are doing the “being a Beatles fan” thing wrong.

There definitely isn’t much peace and love in Trump’s worldview, that’s a fact. He’s a (orange) blue meanie if ever there was one…

Ringo doesn’t have an opinion on politics; he doesn’t even smoke…

He’s kicking himself for not actually running for president after all this

Says who, why can’t a Trump supporter be a Beatles fan, you ever thought that Donald Trump was a fan himself. Personally, although both candidates are a joke, I am glad that Hillary didn’t win because she is very politically correct, which is something that I don’t like. I say we have the Trump and Clinton fans Come Together and realize that All You Need Is Love .
