BBC report that
Sam Allardyce has left his post as England manager by mutual agreement with the Football Association after one match and 67 days in charge.
It follows a newspaper investigation claiming he offered advice on how to “get around” rules on player transfers.
Allardyce, 61, is also alleged to have used his role to negotiate a deal worth £400,000 to represent a Far East firm.
An FA statement said Allardyce’s conduct “was inappropriate” and Gareth Southgate will take temporary charge.
More football manangers will be exposed by The Telegraph (which filmed Allardyce) over the next week or so.
Sad, but not unexpected given how most sports are all about the money nowadays.

I know this probably doesn’t belong in this thread, but I can only see this doing more harm than good.

Why not on the main video if they gave comments on the blog?

Sometimes if comments are highly negative or unsavoury in their nature the facility to comment on is removed. Comments can be disabled at any time I believe so it could have been that it was possible to leave comments at one point but not now; i don’t know as I didn’t see the video when it was first up.

Very bad train crash in Hoboken, New Jersey. A train ploughed into Hoboken train station during the morning rush hour collapsing part of the roof of the station. Reports of more than 100 injured, many critically, as well as many trapped.

So, trying to get this back into the more appropriate thread, does nobody have anything to say about the oncoming age of Trump?

I get why Trump won. Clinton is only slightly better yet stands for everything so Americans don’t want any longer. She has been in a position so long to bring change to the neglected areas yet it’s only gotten worse so why would they vote for her?
Am still of the opinion that Trump’s policies are highly laughable and its a bad day for World politics however there is no way I personally would have voted for Clinton so would have been left with either Trump(!!!), an Independent or not vote. All options are horrific.
And its not only America that wants a radical and fundamental change from how things have been for long. Britain has voted to leave the European Union, more countries are going to follow, and people in countries such as France, Germany and Spain are desperate for change from how it is.

I think it is a vote against the establishment rather than a vote for Trump. Like throwing a hissy fit when you’re angry.
It’s far greater than a hissy fit, there is a very deep very real anger held by so many towards the Establishment as they feel ignored, unheard, neglected and forgotten. To vote Clinton was simply not an option to them.

If we want change, we should change our voting system. First Pass the Post leads to the lesser of who cares.

I woke up with a migraine, sensing something was horribly wrong, and it was. First, I tried to calm myself by hugging my cats. Then, I reckoned an overdose of Beatles music might do the trick. Next was ranting on the phone with my mum, who felt much the same, and I ended up going out to buy some chocolate. Whilst my headache is gone, the dread remains. I’m not in a position to be callous about politics and even though I live halfway across the world, we will see the effects of this election result. I can’t help but wonder: if people are so keen on being anti-establishment, why did they vote Trump? I mean, can it get more establishment than voting Republican? There were unassociated candidates; voting for them would have been a true signal against TPTB. All the achieved now is to create more tension. And no, I’m not a Hillary fan. I just can’t understand how or why this happened.

Personally, I think it was horrible. I got a bad feeling yesterday several hours before the election, and it just continued hanging over my head like a cloud of doom. I have to laugh, though, because it’s so ridiculous. As a white man I probably won’t experience much of the horror that will result from his winning the election. My 401k will probably shrink and my taxes will go up since I’m middle class.
But I feel sad for all of the women who have been sexually assaulted. They lost in this election. Now we have a sexual abuser as our leader.
I also feel bad for Muslims, who may be deported, and for the disabled, who have been mocked by our president elect.
Also, I feel bad for LGBTQ people, now that gay marriage will probably be outlawed.
And of course the Affordable Care Act will be repealed so that the health care industry can once more take advantage of sick people.
And once Roe Vs. Wade is repealed and Planned Parenthood is shut down, many women will die.
Also, the earth will suffer. Trump will rely on coal instead of clean energy, and global warming will worsen. The world is already set to end due to global warming, so that will come quicker.
And there will be a huge wall on our border to keep out the Mexican “rapists.”
