A plane carrying our new Foreign Secretary to his first meeting with Europe’s Foreign Ministers had to make an emergency landing due to technical difficulties minutes after taking off.
The technical difficulties? They’ve not been specified but I think the crew were double checking he really is our Foreign Secretary.
I know I have to read it once a day, just to be sure it isn’t just a bad dream.

Now we’ve had several attacks in France, Turkey attempting a civil war, an idiot as our prime minister and a f*****g stupid foreign secretary, and now I’ve found out they are holding nuclear weapons in Glasgow, not far from my house.WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THE WORLD
Before we bottled the 2014 referendum there was the discussion of where the weapons would go if the vote was for Independence as we didn’t, and still don’t want them.
MP’s have voted to renew Trident but again the SNP voted differently.
The SNP opposed the move, saying nuclear weapons were “immoral” and the continued stationing of submarines on the Clyde could accelerate moves towards independence.
After the vote, the SNP said the government “must respect Scotland’s clear decision against Trident renewal and remove these nuclear weapons of mass destruction from the Clyde”.
Just let us have our second referendum so we can go our own way – surely to goodness we won’t blow it again or stupidly believe the lies peddled to us by politicians. We want out, most of England don’t care and Wales and Northern Ireland are waiting for us to move before they finally decide whether they do or don’t go for their own referendum.

Reportedly 8 dead, goodness knows how many injured and the gunmen on the run. Still no word on who was responsible and why tho I have read on the BBC live text one source saying it looks like it isn’t Islamic terrorists.

A 9th fatality is now being reported. Apparently about a km away, and a suicide. It is believed it may be the/a shooter.
Hints at it being right wing extremism.

The last two journalists based in Fleet Street – the birthplace of the world’s Free Press and the centre of the newspaper world for so long – locked up their office for the last time this evening as the Dundee-based Sunday Post closed its London office. Though most papers moved out of Fleet Street decades ago, it is strange to think that are now no longer any journalists left on the street.

The Sunday Post is a terrible newspaper.

9/11 thought:
I used to record the funny Curtis and Kuby radio show on a cassette and listen to it the next day sans commercials (my own Tivo precursor).
I have the recording of their 9/11 show – but have never listened to it.
Too painful.

God , what a horrible thing that was. I wish I could say something more eloquent than that, but nothing I can say would be good enough.

Anyone able to beat HS2 for being so complicated, convoluted and with so many uncertainties whilst those determined to push it forward seemingly ignore everything to be able to say “Yip. Everything is fine, on schedule and on budget so please don’t ask any questions.”

Oh God ! How can it be that it’s over?
Such a tragedy.
How can we continue without such an example of humanity?
We now need to find a new example to live up to as they are no more.

Corbin won the Labour Leadership Election with 61.8% of the vote, the second time in around 12 months (no idea how to post a link on the mobile version).
I don’t think Corbyn is going to lead Labour to power however he’s a far better option than Owen who came across as yet another creepy, obnoxious, two-faced politician who’d rather chase votes than stick to his own morals and beliefs.

BBC report that
Sam Allardyce has left his post as England manager by mutual agreement with the Football Association after one match and 67 days in charge.
It follows a newspaper investigation claiming he offered advice on how to “get around” rules on player transfers.
Allardyce, 61, is also alleged to have used his role to negotiate a deal worth £400,000 to represent a Far East firm.
An FA statement said Allardyce’s conduct “was inappropriate” and Gareth Southgate will take temporary charge.
More football manangers will be exposed by The Telegraph (which filmed Allardyce) over the next week or so.

Well, at least Big Sam will be able to say he had a 100% success rate as England manager…
