Offline Just watched footage of the police shootings and killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile over the last two days and now 5 police officers shot and killed and another 6 officers injured in Dallas. Horrific.

She was at it again this morning, dropping in that she was right for the position because she was a gay female. If a man suggested that he was right for the job because he was a heterosexual male he’d be burned down in flames within 3 seconds on twitter. Complete hypocrisy.

Offline Looking at the photos of it, I lived literally 2 minutes away from the attack, my roommates were all out at that time- a selfish thought but it’s just mental to think how that could have been me caught up in it.

Offline Seems like another terrorist attack. Just seen a picture of the lorry involved, front window peppered with bullet holes.
I’m hearing at least 30 dead and over 100 injured, according to the BBC.
EDIT: BBC now saying there are unconfirmed reports of 60 dead.

Offline The reports coming in from eyewitnesses, those poor, poor people.
It really makes you fear the world, just the thought you could be out at a concert, in a restaurant, on a beach, watching fireworks, and some sick beasts attack you.
I’m watching French news at the minute and the fact that they start off every report with “France has suffered another terrorist attack”, really drills home how bloody frequent, these attacks are happening.
The fact that we’ll probably just hear of more and more and they’ll most likely spread out to more European countries is terrifying.

Offline I went to the French Embassy this evening. Wanted to leave my message and demonstrate a sympathy to the victims. There were 2 french girls standing there and weeping. They came to me and hugged me, as they could see I was crying as well. We were standing like that for a wile, trying to comfort each other, sharing the pain… ;-( It was a very touching moment

Offline Three more police officers killed in the US, this time in Baton Rouge.
It is not clear what the motive is, or whether there is any link to the killing by police of a black man in the city nearly two weeks ago.
The shooting of Alton Sterling and another killing of a black man in Minnesota, led to widespread protests across the US.
It also triggered a revenge attack by a black army veteran who shot dead five officers in the city of Dallas.
