It’s already springlike where I am. The weather this time of year is so changeable, I don’t even bother with groundhogs. It’ll likely get cold again, then warm, then cold, then sometime around May it’ll settle on hot.

No, most days I just look outside and say, ‘Oh, the sun is shining’ or ‘Oh, it’s grey.’ And take a glance at the thermometer. In our house, Silly Dad is the one who’s glued to the forecast.

‘Groundhog Day’ is an exceptional film.
I watched it twice. I really like groundhog day plots.

It’s a household favorite. I’ve watched it dozens of times and it still makes me laugh.
My father loved it; we saw it in the cinema a few times as he wanted to go and he wasn’t much of a cinema goer. The others were ‘Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves’ and ‘The Fugitive’ which we also saw a few times each.

The rodent has spoken. For only the 18th Groundhog Day since 1887, Punxsutawney Phil saw no shadow shadow this morning. EARLY SPRING!
Yay!! But, I honestly don’t understand the concept of Groundhog Day. If Phil sees no shadow, early spring. But, if he does, an extended winter. It just seems like a weird concept for me…

What exceptional taste! It’s a great piece of sustained acting from Bill Murray. I haven’t seen it in years, most of it’s still in my head though.

I used to live really near where Groundhog Day was filmed (like, in the same county). I’ve never actually seen the film, but I was made well aware growing up that it was filmed in Woodstock, Illinois.

If he becomes president I doubt I’d move to another country.
Based in the make up of Congress he might not be able to get anything done.

If you do end up with a President Trump, I can see the Mexicans and Canadians building walls to keep out the millions of fleeing Americans appalled at their stupidity in voting for such a scary idiot.

With our voting system the present can be elected with less than 40% of the country voting for them.

Do the Scottish Conservatives have anyone who believes they have a hope in hell of actually getting voted in? The country would have to forget how much we not only despise Cameron and all the other Tories currently serving but also what Thatcher did in the 80’s with the Poll Tax. Percy the Murdering Pig would have a better chance of getting elected if he stood.
Plus one of their election briefs is that they will fight the SNP against another referendum when if anything more people here want another referendum because of the actions of the Conservatives after the first and the feeling that an opportunity was subsequently missed.

I found out that you only need 22% of Americans to vote for you to get the presidency.

Nixon, Bush (x2), Reagan. Honestly, I see little difference between Trump and most other recent Republican tools.

That’s funny. I envision a scenario where Mexicans are climbing over the existing border walls saying “we want in!” while we Americans are climbing over the same wall saying “you can have it!”.
This is really becoming nightmarish. At first, I really thought it was a joke and he had no prayer. The b*****d keeps gaining steam and I cannot, for the life of me, understand the appeal. It stuns me to think about how gullible (stupid?) people really are.

The Republicans cannot seem to get a decent candidate to the fore who would have fresh ideas. Last 2 elections saw the GOP throw up (literally) John McCain and Mitt Romney, respectively. Really? And that, boys and girls is why we suffered through 8 year of Uncle Obama. The alternatives were worse.
*deep sigh*
