Sanders has a lot of support from the public but Clinton has done a lot to rig the system in her favor. Also, the corporate-owned media does everything it can to downplay Sanders’ success. For instance, there was a TIME magazine poll to choose contestants for “person of the year.” Sanders won by a large margin but they put Trump, who barely got any votes, in his place.
My question is who the hell does that? It makes no sense whatsoever. To me, it just sounds like society trying to make one of them superior, compared to the other.

We’re not free. We are all being fed propaganda. Real change will only occur when people do what their conscience tells them without regard for public opinion.

What does this mean, specifically? I’m not familiar with the nomination process or how someone might fix it. Rigging the system legally or otherwise?

The latest polls (FWIW) show Hillary at about 55% and Bernie at 31%. The election is still 11 months away though – plenty of time for her to say something stupid, although maybe not at epic proportions like Trump.
Thank you for that. Sanders’ upward trajectory looks interesting. What happened in October to cause both to temporarily dip?

@Joe
It may have been a poor showing at a debate or some such that happened prior to October. It’s hard to say as there is usually a delay between the time the poll is taken and the results are published. An example of that was reported yesterday. As I was driving home from work I almost veered off the road when I heard a news story on the radio that said Trump’s approval rating went way up in the latest CBS News/New York Times poll released yesterday. My heart palpitations gradually subsided when it was revealed that the poll was taken prior to his latest gaff.
I strongly feel Trump is toast. There are now reports stating that he may run as an Independent if/when the Republican party washes their hands of him.
Locally, there has been an entertaining war of words between Trump and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.
The animosity between the two first flared Tuesday when the mayor, at a news conference, used the word a-hole to describe Trump, who has drawn fire this week for his call to ban Muslims from entering the country.
Speaking of comic relief…
Here is an advert for a show that will debut in January featuring a funny lady named Samantha Bee. This ad has been running for a while but is incredibly on topic now more than ever.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.
Thanks @Zig. Interesting times. I wonder if the Republican vote would be split if Trump ran as an independent, allowing the Democrat candidate to clean up.
Thanks too for the funny clip. I think I’ve seen her before, possibly on the Daily Show.

Trump is a Nazi. His hate rhetoric is doing so much damage that there are Christians in my city already beginning to smash the windows of Muslims’ houses. What?
Yes, in a neighborhood near mine a Muslim family has had their windows broken every day since they moved in six weeks ago.
I also learned today about a sixth grade Muslim girl who was brutally beaten on a playground and called “ISIS.”

I’ve never really understood how beating up people of a certain race, religion etc or targeting their homes actually achieves anything. I mean what exactly did beating up a 6-year old achieve in the war against ISIS except create more fear and unrest between everyone?

Donald Trump got attacked by a bald eagle during a photoshoot for Time- I mean even the national bird and one of the most famous symbols of the U.S doesn’t like Trump- that says something.
I see this as the Bald eagle liking what he saw on top of Trump’s bump so much that he wanted to make a nest with it………

The bird’s name is “Uncle Sam.” Trump himself says far more than the fact that the bird doesn’t like him. Several of the other Republican presidential candidates have said things almost identical to Trump’s latest statement that we should close the border to muslim people – but yet every one of them condemned him for the statement. He’s the frontrunner, he’s getting the press coverage – but he’s not the only danger looming in our upcoming election 🙁
Schoolyard bullying and racism is just a product of parental bullying and racism. That’s why It’s So Hard to stop – like spousal & child abuse, it’s environmentally hereditary – if that makes sense.
I grow closer and closer to becoming an expat daily, it seems…my pension would support me well on a South Pacific island 😉
Google “Scalia racist comments” for the ridiculous statement one of our Supreme Court judges said last week. Sorry no link but pick your favorite source.
Besides supporting him for President, Sanders has analyzed the situation pretty well imo – and it’s been done many times throughout history. Trump (for example) is diverting the anger and problems of our middle and lower classes towards minority ethnic groups (first Mexicans, but atm muslims are easier for haters to hate) as “the cause of our troubles.”

I feel our elections next year are the most important in my lifetime – the conservatives are becoming more extremist and Trump continues to garner the majority of the press coverage, which is the main reason he’s doing so well – as celebrities well know, even bad press makes you money (or in this case, increases your name recognition among the voters, and name recognition is more important to getting a person to vote for you than your stand on the issues in our insane country). Add to that the increasing amount of violence and racism, and the result is I’m trying to be more informed about things this time as well as actually getting involved volunteering for the candidate of my choice for the first time. But talking about it does anger me, so I am very thankful for songs like Across The Universe for being able to take me away from that anger and put my mind in a safer, calmer place 🙂
