I’m pretty sure i heard somewhere that the Munich authorities warn people of when weather conditions may trigger anger or irritability.
Interesting. And those Hawaiians have to put up with all that tropical heat which infests your current location as well.
And the Alaskans have to manage cabin fever.

Speaking of sport my German hostlady said in her email “I imagine you were watching the Ireland v. Germany football match on Thursday” and I just thought “…………..we were playing were we?……Did we win?”. After a quick google I found out we did, 1-0 so yay….I guess?
Although I do know that my beloved R.O.I is playing against France tomorrow in rugby and it’s going to be a pretty interesting match from what everyone has been saying. I most likely won’t be watching it because I’ve got work to do that I couldn’t do when I was sick (coincidentally it’s French work) so there you go…

We won, 24-9, woohoo.
And apparently we have a football match tonight as well Ireland v. Poland, once again, reasonably exciting stuff.

Strange story of the day.
The BBC report that almost 3,000 students of Texas universities are planning to protest about changes in the states gun laws which will allow people to carry concealed weapons on college campuses by having dildos hanging out of their bags.
“You’re carrying a gun to class? Yeah well I’m carrying a HUGE DILDO,” Jessica Jin, organiser of Campus (DILDO) Carry, wrote on Facebook.
Gun Right Supports are not happy about this.
It is incredibly idiotic that you can freely take a gun to college but you’d get into trouble for having a sex toy.

The country is unfortunately in the path of most of the storm systems which blow in from the Pacific.
As always, I’m hoping @HongKongLady’s family are okay.

BBC News article about their investigation into one of the most shocking and clear-cut examples of a miscarriage of justice.
A BBC News investigation has uncovered that a man has been in a Louisiana prison for 23 years for shooting dead a British tourist even though his judge and the detectives involved in the case have long believed he is innocent of the crime.
Robert Jones was accused of being behind a one-man crime spree of rape, robbery and then the murder of holidaymaker Julie Stott in New Orleans in 1992 shortly after she had accepted a marriage proposal from her British boyfriend. He was found guilty of rape and was persuaded to plea bargain down from a murder charge to manslaughter for the killing of Julie Stott.
Mr Jones has been languishing behind bars ever since, even though another man had earlier been tried and convicted for the murder and there was compelling evidence that the second man had been responsible for all of the crimes in the spree, including the rape. However, nothing was done to overturn the original judgement against Mr Jones. His conviction has been described as one of the worse examples of a racially inspired miscarriage of justice in the US for decades.
I recommend reading the whole thing. That this man is still in jail is a travesty. This should be a major story in the US, and yet it appears to be barely causing a ripple.
