Have Dolce & Gabbana just managed to destroy their label with one interview?
Talking to an Italian magazine about their latest catwalk show, based around the family, they slammed non-traditional families. Fine. I don’t agree, but entitled to have that view. Where the line was stepped over, in my opinion, was when Dolce said this:
You are born and you have a father and mother. At least it should be like that. That’s why I’m not convinced by what I call chemical children, synthetic babies.
This is a description of IVF babies. The vast majority of which are born to “straight” couples who have trouble conceiving, and need medical help.
The backlash, led by Elton John, has begun.
I say to them, next time you’re ill, don’t go to a hospital or take any drugs, just let nature take its course!

Not been following the story, tho i did see Elton John is trying to get some protest/boycott together, but is this D&G thing also in relation to the 3 person baby thing? i’m not in favour of that, some things you have to leave to chance, God , nature, the stork. I get why folk would want to do it but i dont agree with being able to manipulate nature to the degree of being able to alter genes/DNA etc in the womb. My opinion, if others want to believe differently then thats up to them, i dont want a long debate about it.

Offline @meanmistermustard No, he was talking about normal IVF. He was describing children born of that process, which bar one bit, are totally natural, as being “chemical children, synthetic babies”. I just cannot agree with that type of bigotry.
On what you mentioned, I agree there’s a debate there.

We have a dumb PM trying to copy other dumb leaders and he said something terribly stupid and malicious this week and I’m just embarrassed to be a citizen of Australia right now. Not much the stupidity and maliciousness of the statement, but the fact that it’s there to cover up for straight out greed and discrimination and racism. Being an First Australian and living on your land is not a “lifestyle choice” and being removed because its “too expensive” doesn’t seem to apply to white rural communities, but think of the money when we dig a big hole in the ground eh. The money that will be funnelled off overseas where it can’t be taxed.

I’m with you on that one. I’m not embarrassed because I didn’t vote for him (and have never voted for his party) but the guy is a clown and gives the place a bad name.

I have always felt he was a right-wing fanatic from well before he was leader. I was worried what would happen if he ever became PM and he has only confirmed my suspicions.
