In a country the size of the US, there must be plenty of people half his age who’d make a suitable president, and if not, why not? Is having truckloads of money the only thing that makes you eligible?
Why is Trump the darling of evangelical Christians when he is not exactly a man of principle?
In the United States of the mid-2020s, you need to be a multi-millionaire/billionaire to fund your campaigns. It’s also too late to really change the Democratic nominee to a young someone who is willing to invest their billions into the incredible fame they’d have to build up against Biden. That being said, Biden is too stubborn to even consider stepping down, he’s in it until he dies (which I believe will happen within the next 2-3 years).
Trump is popular because of a false sense of superiority he instilled on most of America. Just like Hitler or Stalin (although Trump is too stupid and constitutionally barred to be one) he uses propaganda and lies. Biden sees through those- get drunk for every sip you take for calling Trump a liar at that Debate.
We will see the inevitable return… #Trump2024

Don’t see Biden winning. He’s a complete liability and the ‘At least he’s not Trump’ reason for getting the vote won’t work this time.
In the UK we finally got rid of the corrupt Conservatives last week; Labour getting the “At least it’s not the Conservatives’ vote as I’m not sure anyone knew what they planned to actually do.

It’s a shame that people vote based on the person, not the administration. I worry about things like abortion rights getting further stripped back if the Republicans get back in over there.
In terms of the UK, I have been pleasantly surprised at the Labour cabinet already. A housing minister who has lived in social housing, a chancellor who studied Economics and worked at the Bank of England. The right people in the right roles, rather that handing the roles to friends or whoever is left supporting you in your party. I’m hopeful we should get a few years of steady politics without all the infighting, but we shall see.
I think it's great you're going through a phase,

Why would she post that? Surely it risks her job.

Tulsi Gabbard’s cogent observation about the general ongoing climate for years may have a clue to explain that agent’s chutzpah:
The assassination attempt on President Trump is a logical consequence of repeatedly comparing him to Adolf Hitler. After all, if Trump truly was another Hitler, wouldn’t it be their moral duty to assassinate him?

Seems not “cogent” but a pretty disingenuous remark to me, blaming this attempt on an amorphous “they” [ie. anti-Trumpers / the left-wing in general], even as the shooter fit the profile of a conservative Republican more than as a leftist; and that it’s the Democratic party that is consistently in favour of tougher gun laws that would make such incidents less likely to occur.
Nevertheless, I’m still reasonably happy to be reminded of the existence of Tulsi Gabbard, who i haven’t thought of in several years – if only because it amuses me that her name spelled backwards reads “Drab Bag I, Slut”
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Tulsi’s factual observation still stands; and it doesn’t make sense that a Republican would assassinate Trump anymore than a right winger would mass murder country music fans in Las Vegas.

You’re right, it doesn’t make sense. And yet public voting records reveal that he was indeed a registered Republican, as well as a gun enthusiast.
And I don’t understand your comparison with the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting, which as far as I knew was non-ideological, as such multiple shootings usually are, unless you’re just referring to the senselessness of both the incidents.

Whatever he thought he was, he evidently adopted the irrational hatred of the Left for Trump.
Michelle Malkin collected some lovely facts along those lines:

Just in (to add to Malkin’s list):
Dan Whitfield, a Democrat running for US Senate in Arkansas against Tom Cotton (Republican):
“Dan said the world would be a better place if the bullet would have killed Donald Trump last Saturday. Dan deleted the tweet. And then he deleted his X account”

Trump-hatred is totally rational – he’s a loathsome individual – although calls for political violence are certainly not, and never are. The Malkin article you linked is from 2016, and I’m not going to click on your other link from Nazi-sympathizer Looper.

I think a clever Leftist could figure out some sophistry to wriggle out of the blasphemy charge for that. But it’s a moot issue, since Leftists dominate the Mainstream of the entire West anyway. Christians who care just have to suck it up and go take in a show in Branson, MO.
