Speaking for myself, regarding the two posts above, I do hope we don’t start getting anti-vaccine material posted here.

The SNP’s record on issues like social care are atrocious and getting worse to the point where I didn’t vote last year for anyone. I also didn’t agree with the SNP approach to Covid being of the opinion they were far too safe and let it all drag on. We’re also not getting independence for the foreseeable and need to therefore focus on more pressing matters: get the country back on track then go for the Yes vote again at the next but one election.
As a politician tho Sturgeon comes across very well, far better than the idiots at Westminster or who she faces in Holyrood.

Agreed, I’ve always respected Sturgeon and found her much more genuine and likeable than most UK politicians, but the SNP’s record in governments leaves a lot to be desired.

I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Woah! Big breaking news — Donald Trump has posted on his Trump Social site that he will be arrested on behalf of the Manhattan District Attorney on Tuesday. He has also called for protests against it happening.
Could be an interesting few days in the US.
Seems the Manhattan DA agreed to an arranged surrender to custody and Trump is trying to whip up his supporters into a mob that looks to prevent it. Like we’re seeing in Pakistan with Imran Khan.
If I was the Manhattan DA, I’d be going, “Stuff the arranged surrender, arrest him now, today, in the next hour.”

Trump is often discussed here, @Sea Belt, and I have no idea how responding to claims made by him himself counts as negative criticism. Though I wrongly assumed as the news was breaking that Trump had agreed to an organised surrender on Tuesday.
In fact, it turns out it’s all based on him speculating, trying to whip up his base, with it now appearing that it’s very unlikely that the Grand Jury the Manhattan DA has empanelled has voted to indict or not as they still have at least one witness to hear from.
It’s a simple fact that Trump posted on his social media today that he will be arrested on Tuesday, and that he requested his supporters to protest against his arrest.
Debate on and about political figures has always gone on on the forum, occasionally getting quite heated, but very rarely have we seen any deaths resulting from comment here that you support or oppose a particular politician.

Well it’s happening, a couple of weeks after Donald Trump announced he would be arrested the following Tuesday, he has been indicted in New York for falsification of financial records to cover-up his payment of hush money to hide affairs he had, with it centring on the Stormy Daniels payment, and he is expected to surrender for arrest and charge next Tuesday.
They are not the most significant charges he may face, with possible charges still to come over his role in the January 6th storming of the Capitol building, along with possible charges over election interference, and his retention of official documents, but it is the first time someone who has held the role of President will be charged with a criminal offence.
This is an important moment for America, whether he is ultimately convicted or not, despite his claims that it is political persecution and political interference, it stands America up as a country of laws from which no-one is exempt.
Ultimately this case, and other possible cases to come, will be judged by a jury of his peers.
No-one is above the law.

@Neely
Indicted means that a Grand Jury of, usually, between 16 and 23 people, have been presented with evidence a prosecutor will use in a criminal trial, with the Grand Jury voting on whether they think the evidence warrants criminal charges. In this case, the Grand Jury has voted that there is enough evidence for him to face criminal charges, and their vote is called an Indictment.
While the actual charges are yet to be confirmed, the Grand Jury has been investigating his payment of $130,000 to porn star Stormy Daniels at the beginning of his 2016 race for President to keep silent about an affair with him, and his covering it up by claiming it as a business expense rather than personal.
