With all due respect, I don’t think you’ve quite woken up…
With all due respect, what is that supposed to mean?
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

I think I know what FP means by that. Joe does not need a “The West better wake up to the Muslim threat” conversation here on the forum. If need be, the mods will lock this thread until further notice.

Any time something happens, the “T” word comes out.

Can we all let it go and move on before this develops into a flare-up?

An excuse to post a wonderful video that I’ve posted before.
The Saudi Arabian king has been recommended by his advisory council to allow women over 30 and not wearing make-up to drive between 7am and 8pm. A step forward I suppose.
This video by Hisham Fageeh was part of the protests against the ban on women driving, and very funny it is too.

It’s the 11th of November today (time-dependent on when it begins). Regardless of what you do during the day take a few moments out of it to remember those who have given their lives in battle in World War One and all the other wars.

Agree with the sentiment, @meanmistermustard, but apart from a few places in the Southern hemisphere starting around lunchtime GMT, it’s the 10th!
I am planning to brave the Tower of London later today. Wouldn’t brave it on the 11th, expecting today to be bad enough but I have to see it before they start dismantling it.
If anybody wonders what I am talking about, google “tower of london poppies”.
Nearly 900,000 ceramic poppies surrounding one of Britain’s oldest forts, one for each British and Commonwealth death in the First World War.
It tribute began like this:
Google it. There are some remarkable and moving images.
I won’t be ashamed if there’s a tear.
REMEMBER THEM!

Big involvement down this way of course with all the ANZAC history, NZ will kick off first, it’s the 11th in just over 11 hours here as I type.

I pay little to no notice to dates. I know its Monday and therefore tomorrow is Tuesday, if its not happening today or tomorrow then it can be forgotten about until the time comes. If its important like travel arrangements, birthday cards etc i normally do it all in advance or when it comes to mind. Dates don’t come into it much.

Ah well, as long as you have a rough idea what day it is we can keep the silly wagon away from the door.

Today is a day in human history. As part of a 25 year European project, after catching up with a comet the robotic Rosetta mission landed the Philea probe on the comet.
Just worth a mention, I thought.

Yesterday and today in my state capital, Jackson (MS), they are holding a hearing on the same-sex marriage ban.
My governor, although I wish he wasn’t, said “It’ll be a cold day in hell before Mississippi courts took up gay marriage”.
“It’s supposed to be real cold tomorrow,” Reeves replied to Hinds County attorney Peter Teeuwissen, one of three counsels for the defense.”
Sure enough it is. Careful what you wish for. They said the same the about the New Orleans Saints before they won a Super Bowl.
On the other hand, all I can do is hope for a good outcome. It seems like an uphill battle, but you never know.
