America’s education system is pretty trash, ngl. And there’s also the fact that a lot of language programs lack funding and thus only start in high school instead of earlier on.

I would have loved to see Tulsi Gabbard on the debate stage vs. Donald Trump — that would be an Infinity Wars-level epic crossover in my book — but the way it appears to be going, seeing as Biden has won my state (dammit) and quite a few others, I’ll likely be watching (with popcorn) the Big Bad Orange Man melt already half-brainmelted Sleepy Joe with only about 20% of his awesome New Yorker Pushiness Power. Which is exactly as I predicted at the beginning of the race.

Language is overrated anyway. Better to fund the creation of universal translator.

Learning a second (or more) language has been proven to do great things for your brain, including decreasing the chances of Alzheimer’s. You don’t want to end up like Brainmelt Biden, do ya?

On the other hand, if one does develop Alzheimer’s/dementia they are more likely to lose that second (or more) language and revert to the first language.

Watching PMQ’s where the face-off over bullying has gone around “yeah well what about you and your party…” and “she might be alleged to be a bully but she’s jolly good at her job which is really good for the public”. Was half expecting Priti Patel to jump over and batter Corbyn considering the looks she was giving him.
And Jeremy is still there!! I thought he had finally slipped into a void to allow Labour to return to being pointless instead of inept and incompetent.

I’ve been so fired up today because Biden is in the lead and I’m gonna be really angry if he gets the nomination. My friend made the mistake of bringing up Super Tuesday to me when we were walking together from Physics and I absolutely went off. He said “Biden’s probably gonna win” and I started on a whole rant on how I absolutely don’t want Biden to get the nomination. My anger carried on to my next class and someone told me “Stop worrying! We’re only sixteen! Politics don’t affect us!” which is the most bullshit thing I’ve heard.

That’s very stupid indeed. We may not be able to vote, but we will certainly be affected, because we have to live with whoever the next president is for 4-8 years.
I, too, hope Biden won’t get the nomination. That said, there’s a good chance he’s more electable than Bernie, and if I had to choose between Biden and Trump I’d still pick Biden for sure. So, I don’t know.
Edit: I just saw that Bloomberg dropped out and is endorsing Biden. Yay Warren?

Yeah, that’s garbage. Politics affects everyone.
Doesn’t mean we’re gonna let kids vote, though, y’all are just a bit too naive and idealistic for your own good (I saw as someone who voted for Tulsi Gabbard knowing she wouldn’t win ). but seriously, informing yourself and developing opinions now is very good practice for when you are old enough to vote. Too many people take it for granted and don’t take it seriously enough, and that’s how you get a Democratic primary like the one we’ve just had.
Anyway, the prediction I made to totally offhand six months ago appears to have been correct… Joe Biden is the nominee, and now I await mass riots from the more violent factions of Bernie Brethren with popcorn and some foreboding. The true winner of yesterday’s election, however, has been Donald Trump.

What you really want is a Biden/Saunders ticket. Much as I know Saunders is admired by many, I don’t believe he could do anything against Trump, but having him as VP might be a workable way forward. Fiddy made the important point about Biden, “there’s a good chance he’s more electable than Bernie”. What’s the point in a candidate that many of his supporters accept probably can’t beat Trump?

^That’s really what concerns me, though. If Biden wins in November, he will in all likelihood step down before too long, and so a vote for Biden is more or less a vote for whoever his vice president pick will be. It’s almost as if the Democratic establishment put Biden up there as a Trojan horse for whoever they really want as president. So I very much doubt Sanders would be picked as VP, because the DNC obviously doesn’t want Bernie to represent their party. They’re neolibs — they don’t want their nice corrupt party to be taken over by an old raving socialist, because they know that America will never accept a socialist president.

1. No offense Beatlebug but I disagree, I think that as a person who will be a legal adult for the majority of the new president’s term I should absolutely have a vote in the election. I’m not saying we should let eight-year-olds vote but if sixteen-year-olds can drive cars we should be able to vote too.
2. Do you mean Sanders, RN?
3. I’m actually kinda hoping for a Harris somewhere on the ballot…
4. Ohhhhh so the Billie Eilish song really is a Bond theme! That’s neat. It’s a good song.

With all the production problems it has had, I bet they were looking for any excuse to get to work on it for a few more months. It also keeps up the ‘Bond at Christmas’ tradition, we’ve had since Brosnan’s era.

I really hate how the Democratic party in this election has become so focused on maintaining its centric image that it produces and ultimately decides on mediocre and bland candidates like all the ones we have this year and the only interesting candidate that will probably be the best for our country if we want progressive action is overlooked because he’s “too old” and “too crazy” and they identify his socialist viewpoints as “too radical” (but maybe that’s just what we need……..) Ugh I hate my stupid, corrupt party. I don’t blame @Beatlebug for getting out the popcorn and being entirely entertained by the Democrat party and the messes we/they throw upon ourselves/themselves. It sucks. I’m still a Democrat, but ugh……
It really irks me how much some Americans are afraid of the term “socialism.” It really irks me how in many people’s eyes socialism automatically equates to communism and thus “evil” and how the Red Scare has really tainted our country in terms of how we come to view things such as socialism, even though what Bernie proposes if very much less severe than they think. (If that makes sense? I really hope someone is picking up what I’m putting down…..). PSA: Bernie’s socialism does not equal communism and everything negative that we associate with such, fellow Democrats!
It disappoints me so much that the presidential race is probably gonna end up being Biden v. Trump, and then Biden will be too weak of a candidate to win against Trump, and then we’re gonna have another four years of Trump which will just be a repeat of the last four years.
I can’t wait to vote.
Edit: I realize I forgot to actually respond to what Bebu actually said about Biden being a Trojan horse and honestly I won’t be surprised if that happens.

That’s certainly one of the problems with American politics, its fear of democratic socialism, and the belief it is the same thing as totalitarian communism. I don’t see any reason Biden would stand down as President if elected as suggested though. We all thought/hoped Trump wouldn’t last the course and have him standing for a second term. Why would someone run for the top job planning to stand down if they got it?
EDIT: With recent health problems, there is much more chance of Bernie being unable to complete a full term, so who is really the Trojan horse?
