There are a lot of marginals in Scotland; at least one of the tight marginals is expected by two, and if that shows a big swing to the SNP, expect to see Ruth Davidson skinny-dipping in Loch Ness…

Anyone is better than Boris ‘hiding in a fridge, refusing to debate, rugby-tackling a child, shoving a journalist’s phone into his pocket, sacked multiple times from jobs for being dishonest, immigrant-hating, classist, misogynist, don’t know how many unfortunate children he’s actually fathered’ Johnson. I dislike Corbyn too, he comes across as spineless and a dull, bland man. But I’d rather some semblance of control and power that benefits the working man over the lunatic who’s now running the asylum for the next 5 years.
Fine Gael who’ve been in power here for 9 years, will likely be turfed out in our next election which will probably be early next year, thanks to this mess. They’ve been by and large atrocious- under them rental prices have skyrocketed, no new houses are being constructed, homelessness has gone over 10,000 people, people are sitting and dying on armchairs and trolleys in hospital wards because there’s no beds free for them. The list goes on and on.
But they’ll be kicked out, I know no one who supports FG. Unfortunately, we’ll probably end back up with Fianna Fáil, who are one of the most corrupt shower of criminals to ever be in charge of a developed, western country but FG won’t get reelected. I can’t see why the UK is letting a party that clearly doesn’t care about its citizens, continue to be in power.

The problem with these kind of elections is that people see it as “is Jeremy Corbyn better than Boris Johnson” instead of “who would be the best candidate out of all possible candidates”. If people actually took the time and effort to look at every single candidate and determine what one they like the best after some extensive research, then we’d have better people than Donald Trump and Boris Johnson in office.

Allegations of people illegally voting by saying they are someone they are not in three Scottish constituencies; Glasgow, Paisley and Stirling. Got to love Scotland.
On a happy note, I went to Stirling with my brother when he was considering doing nursing there (as it seems every single nursing in Ireland reject goes to Stirling, no offense to Stirling, it’s got bloody great modern equipment (my personal favourite are the dummies that are simulators, so you can practice CPR, Heimlich manoeuvre etc. on them) and probably better teaching as well but for some reason it’s easier to do nursing in Scotland than it is in Ireland. Conditions seem to be equally as bad for Irish nurses as Scottish so ¯\_(?)_/¯ ).
Stirling= nice place, visit Scotland, folks. Pet a highland cow, what more could you want?

A lot of politics is based on the personalities of the leaders of the parties. How it has been for years.
Get into researching the candidates and whether or not they are genuine then you’ll be left with one person and that highland cow ASJ mentioned. Personally I’d vote for the cow.

Jeremy Corbyn, Labour leader: “A very disappointing night… I will not lead the party into any future election.”
Jeremy says he will lead an inquest into the result and then set in place a direction before standing down. I don’t think he has that long. I wouldn’t be surprised if Labour has a caretaker leader in place when the House of Commons reconvenes next Tuesday.

To my fellow UK Forumpudlians who are concerned and terrified for our society’s most vulnerable groups, I’m currently helping to try and compile a list of local and national organisations to support our public services, mobilise action on the climate emergency, and help the homeless, refugees and members of ethnic, religious and LGBTQ+ minority groups. We won’t have a good shot at electoral politics for a few years now, so taking direct community action and building solidarity is the best thing we can do. More to follow

I love how much generosity people like you can have. Typically, you’ll see people with signs marching down the street and complaining about something but doing nothing else and even when people actually try and help better the world, it’s typically either to prove they’re not a bigot or to cover up a bigger problem.
But this isn’t that. This is you and some other people who are putting matters into their own hands because they genuinely want to make the UK a better place and this is exactly what we need for concepts like anarchy and socialism to work properly. So i hope you’re successful with your group.

Obviously I’m delighted with the election ……..
Corbyn couldn’t have funded his socialist agenda ………Ignoring the irony of using capitalism, (as he would have had to have done) to fund socialism ….it doesn’t work.
Boris knows to keep his voters the conservative party has to change……Compassionate capitalism is in the best interests of the country.
Well done Boris.

I’ll send you a PM with it if you like, I’m slightly wary about posting it publicly since the google docs apparently got inundated with people editing it and deleting stuff… It’s the end of term and I’m packing all my stuff right now so I’ve only applied to volunteer with a couple of organisations so far, but in the new year I think I’ll put my energy into that since I now have a bunch of free time in my week without having to campaign
Don’t really fancy getting sucked into a debate with anyone right now, but at some point down the line I’d like to discuss the issues here, since political conversations here tend to be 1000x more tolerable than literally anywhere else on the internet
