They are if you follow sports, and the amount of people that follow something make it more of a current news event, and a lot of people follow sports. Probably a lot more than follow SS?’s eating habits.
I know, I don’t get it myself.

Music, film and video games are a welcome sanctuary from the real world for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m aware of current day events, but the 24/7 news cycle is exhausting these days. That’s why I also love posting on the forums here.

Yeah, the world of the Beatles is the most welcoming escape from the depressing drone of the world.

Honestly i have to agree. Music puts me back into a world full of happiness when i listen to it. I wish we could go back to a world as happy as some of The Monkees records i am listening to are. If the world could be that joyous and upbeat it would be wonderful

11 days to Brexit and it looks like we’re now on the verge of a constitutional crisis.
Lots of talk the past few days about Prime Minister May bringing her deal back for Meaningful Vote 3. The Speaker of the House of Commons has just stated that if it is brought back without substantial changes then it cannot be voted on again in this Session of Parliament.
Feck!!!

An extension will surely be agreed as the vote is now not going to happen and I doubt even the EU would prefer the UK to leave with no deal if at all avoidable. Trouble is, to get an agreement for a delay I think the EU will a) want some indication we can get some resemblance of a way forward as currently, we have nothing and just look inept and b) want some financial compensation in whatever way they want to word it. We would pay the money, I’m not sure anyone can agree on what plan we go with.

Would it be in bad taste to refer to it as a Brexitstential crisis?
(sorry, that’s just what my brain got out of glancing at ‘Brexit’ and ‘constitutional crisis’ in one eyegrab )

I have no problem with it. The whole fecking thing is just such a dysfunctional farce it would be funny if it wasn’t my damn country.
Tomorrow/today (depending on your time zone) she is rumoured to be sending the letter asking for more time. She is said to want to ask for a short extension with the possibility of a longer extension if needed. Half her Cabinet have said they’ll resign if she asks for the possibility of a longer extension.
And all it takes is one of the remaining 27 to decide there’s no point granting more time, that we can never get a Brexit deal through, and we’re up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
It’s even doing the rounds that Prime Minister May could try to get Meaningful Vote 3 past the Speaker a week on Thursday, the day before we leave by law.
We have a Government in power at one of the most critical times in our modern history that would have collapsed months ago such ids its disunity.
I mean, last week we had the Brexit Secretary closing the debate on whether to ask for an extension, urging MPs to vote for an extension because it was vital, and then voting against one!!! You just cannot make this fecking stuff up!!!

And that’s the thing.
I’ve got a good feeling there will be a country that will vote against it, and it could be for any number of reasons.
Tbh what needs to happen is an election, and on the other side of the ballot is Brexit referendum round 2.
I seriously cannot see anything else working.
