Hey Joe, how do you send someone mail, and what does PM mean? Because I want to send a message to someone, and I don't quite know how. Can you help?

I'm not sure if it's private or personal message, but under the logout button there's a row that starts with 'INBOX'. Click that, and from there it's pretty much just like sending an email – click 'COMPOSE' on the far right and have at it. Let me know if you need more help.

Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!

@Starr Shine? When I was a kid I used to love the Beano and Dandy. As a teenager I’d read 2000AD, Crisis and some others. Maus made a huge impression. Then I stopped for years, but I occasionally dip into graphic novels (Watchmen, V For Vendetta etc). I still love Art Spiegelman’s work and I recently bought a whole load of Judge Dredd anthologies when they came out on Kindle. Comics are good, though I don’t read a lot nowadays.

If you like comics I recommend Beatles With An A which is very funny and largely accurate (there are intentional anachronisms). There have been a few Beatles graphic novels but the only other one I’ve read is Baby’s In Black, about Stuart and Astrid. Perhaps there should be a thread on them in the books section.

My copy of Pixies’ new album is on its way, so I’m looking forward to that. I love Bowie, Blondie (though I have mixed feelings about the prospect of the new one), Super Furry Animals/Gruff Rhys, Harry Nilsson, Dusty Springfield, Patti Smith, LCD Soundsystem, Motown, Spector’s girl groups, the Shangri Las, Otis Redding, many others. Pop music, basically, but from a time when pop wasn’t autotuned hideousness.

The last new thing I got a bit obsessed with was Royals by Lorde, which was the first and only thing I’ve ever pulled the car over to Shazam (if that’s a verb). It’s a fabulous song.

Nice to see the Shangri-Las getting a mention Joe, a fantastic girl group they were.

I do believe this thread will stay more G-rated than the questions for Paul thread. No therapy couch session time for Joe.

Joe, do you have a library card? Do you take Ted to your local library?

Depends if anyone is willing to make the first move, if one is posted then the others will follow – tho a site ban and report to the internet overseers (hello, yes we know you are not watching us at allahdn_paul_01) may be the result. Is it worth it?a-hard-days-night-paul-7

Go on. You’re a mod, he might gave you a little more leeway in your question. And if not then i’m sure having been a mod you know how the ip addresses and all that work so can buck the system and break in disguised as someone else  – tho you’ll have to temper your love for Paul a tad.

@Ahhh Girl You can ask me anything! I might not answer, but fire away.

We recently moved and none of us are yet members our local library. We will join, we just haven’t yet got round to it. Ted has “My first library card” from our old local library. He has loads of books at home – we read to him all the time.

Almost all my books are still in boxes following the house move. I should finally have some shelves up in the next week or so, so I can start unpacking. All my Beatles books, all our novels, everything. My CDs and vinyl have also been boxed up for months. We’re going to have a huge clear out and give away a lot that we no longer need or use.
