Yeah, I’m writing a few now. I thought I’d ran out of ideas for songs, but then I realised personal scenario songs exist so now I have, like, a million ideas.
When I finally have the time (I’m terribly impatient – I rush a lot of things), I’ll finish recording my songs then put out a free, amateur solo album. I’ve got someone for a potential band, but this one’s just me.
Oh, and if any of you lot have “ties” to the musical industry, shall we say – you know what to do

I’ve got about 100 songs; they fall into three categories: Finished, Finished with later tweaks, and Unfinished.
Some of my songs have been unfinished for many years. I can’t seem to find changes for them to complete them (though I keep trying…).

I’m fleshing out an adaption of the classical piece “Carnival of Venice”, turning it into a folksy song — but I feel I need lyrics in some Slavic language. Any Beatles Biblers know any Slavic languages and would like to create lyrics to a melody…?

Ok so technically I didn’t write this. Or play it. My dad did, and I think it’s amazing. As some of you know, he’s a classical guitarist who write a lot of his own music.
He hasn’t developed this particular idea or released it on an album, but I think its genius. I recorded him playing it on the porch this evening. There is a creek that runs behind our house and so that’s what the noise is in the background. I couldn’t persuade him to come inside and get a proper recording.

Wow @Mimi, that is really nice, very relaxing and i’m sure there are some birds in there which make it even more so. Any more your dad does please post them here – and pass on my compliments and thanks.
I found a button on soundcloud that allowed me to download it.

Also, I’m writing a song about the modern manufactured music industry, called “Plastic Wrap Blues”.

Started writing my first album; you get to hear some of my own music. I dislike my voice and lead playing but I’m proud other than those.

I like your voice. It’s dreamy.
On topic, I have written some songs but that was years ago… I wouldn’t like to read them now lol. My English skills weren’t up to par back then.
However, I’ll definitely start writing some in near future because inspiration!
If I could ever wish something related to songwriting… I wish I could make a song like Strawberry Fields Forever . That’s all.

Those are great @MrMoonlight! The length of “Electric Dreams” is a little scary for me, someone who has always preferred short songs, but I know sometimes the urge to jam out is too strong. Plus, it was quite good guitar stuff in there, and I really like the end of that one. “Gold” is very nice as well, and I like the lyrics of both.

@MrMoonlight, that is absolutely wonderful! You have gotten so much better in such a short time! A real talent is what you’ve got.
As for me, I had the opportunity to sit down with these very cool guys this summer, and we wrote a few pretty great songs. Unfortunately, nothing got recorded, and now that I’m so far away from them the chances that it will happen are small.
I’ve been writing songs since I was 13. Most of them are about day-to-day teenage life, but there are a few that are quite nice.
Recently I’ve been stuck with a piano tune. I got up one morning, sat on the keyboard and this song came out of nowhere. I’ve got the whole melody in my head, but the lyrics can’t seem to come. It’s very annoying!

Well, after around a 6-7 month of struggling and re-organizing myself with school, life and other stuff, I’m about to finish two songs, one instrumental and a vocal one. I’m almost done with the instrumental one, it’s just on the piano, inspired on an old friend to whom I haven’t talked in a long time. I’ll try to post a demo (unless the reception here makes it the final one) between today and tomorrow.
Let me take you down 'cause I'm going to...Strawberry Fields.

Can’t want to hear it!
So I found some old songs I’ve written and read through them. They’re really not bad, just a bit angry. I can’t write happy songs, I just don’t know where to start. I refuse to write love songs because I think they’re cliche, but maybe I’d be successful if I tried.
I’ve written some music lately and that’s going pretty well.
Just need some inspiration. Pattie seemed to work for George and Clapton!

You could write a song about a blade of grass being eaten by a rabbit from the blade of grass’s P.O.V since it is not a happy thing nor a love thing.

You could argue that the blade of grass’s purpose in life is to be eaten and therefore is achieving its purpose in life which makes it happy.

So if a bear eats you, you should be happy that you are achieving your purpose in life?
