I’m another alternate timeline person. I have about 6 different running scenarios in my head.

You crazy? I knew they were go-od from the start.
I did absolutely love Mamma Mia when I watched it as a kid (lol) but I think my initial view on them as a teenager was during my “pop sucks maaan, I only listen to real 70s music like Zeppelin” phase, so I wrote them off, not because I didn’t enjoy the music, but because it didn’t really fit with how I wanted to see myself at the time, I guess. Nowadays I’m a musically omnivorous degenerate, so I’m into a lot of stuff the 2016 me would probably despise

Not sure if its a guilty pleasure, but I love laying in bed just before going to sleep and imagining various scenarios, whatever they may be.
I do the same thing. Staying on one vivid train of thought helps me calm my buzzing brain down enough to fall asleep.
I think this thread is for musical guilty pleasures, though…
Yeah, well, posting that in here was my guilty pleasure.
Musically….hmm. I’d say Macho Man by the Village People. Recently, anyway.

No shade, I do have a lot of friends who love Mamma Mia! and like I try to like it so hard for their sake but I just can’t– like to me it’s just so cheesy and cringey. The only good parts of Mamma Mia! are Meryl Streep and Colin Firth.

Yeah, I found “Mamma Mia” disappointing too…gorgeous Greek scenery, but the staging of the musical numbers was unexciting as a whole. Trying to shoehorn all those unrelated songs (not necessarily well-sung) into a silly plot…bah!
Surely Cats won’t disappoint!

Had they picked better singers for the roles it might not have been so bad. My God , Pierce Brosnon was horrible. The only singing actor I ever thought was worse was Oliver Reed in Tommy.

Oh come on, we all do this, at least to some degree Even the people who are mostly interested in how they appear to themselves rather than other people, like us Aries, are still doing this.

Mamma Mia as a staged musical is much better than the film (because they actually have people who can :O sing in a musical *looks at Pierce Brosnan and Amanda Seyfried*). If you’re ever in a place and MM is on, go see it, it’s really good fun.
I’ve said before on the forum that Abba is the band that no one can hate. You have to at least like one of their songs- it is impossible not to.

I did see Mamma Mia in London on a school trip, and I have to say that it kind of sucked… We still enjoyed it for the songs, but the production and acting wasn’t great. But yeah, you’d have to be extremely cold hearted not to appreciate their music.

I went to Stockholm once. We went ice skating at an outdoor ice rink, and all they played over the speakers the whole time were Abba tunes. Is there anything more quintessentially Swedish?

Just picking on you because it seemed like an uncharacteristically un-Aries thing to do but I recognize that I’ve always been an unusually stubborn/antisocial individual in that sense, even for a ram. And even I modify my behavior based on how I think others will perceive me, though it’s usually not music but how I dress, act, and what likings I’ll admit to rather than what things I like.
