Hasn’t it been proven that google collects information on anyone who uses the site? And now we’re supposed to put our entire lives there? Yeesh, the world is getting smaller and smaller. I’m just waiting for the day when you show up at a job interview and they say “looks like you had a lot of fun in your college years, and we have the pictures to prove it.”
I sat on a rug, biding my time, drinking her wine

I thought they already did that.
No, really. In our health class (which ends up being the catchall class), we had to sit through a presentation that basically went “Don't put stupid stuff on Facebook, because anybody can find it.”
Anyway, if that scenario happens and I show up to a job interview and they've looked at my Facebook pictures, they'll know I got 4s on both AP tests I took this year. So I'm not too worried.
If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

Gnik, that day came three years ago. Countless numbers of people get fired because of their Facebook accounts. That’s why people *cough* Brock Anton *cough* are so stupid. They made their lives forever hard.

Facebook has privacy settings which can stop people finding anything about you. Google+'s privacy settings mean that a minimum of information will always be visible, and Google has the right to publish your stuff publically.
I told her I didn’t

Actually I only took my accounts because I don't want anybody taking the handles I use. That's all.
I don't use facebook a lot, but it is indeed a fantastic place to keep in touch with old friends. I have some friends there from a forum I belong many years ago, and some other friends that moved abroad.
What it doesn't make any sense to me is sending messages to people you talk to every day.

Apparently it's more of a threat to FriendFeed than Facebook, but I don't know much about the former. The main difference is that in G+ you create 'circles' so you can basically select the people, or groups of people, you post things to.
For the moment it's all a bit geeky and select, and seems only to be used by people who are in the know about the technical side of social networking. I can't really see it taking over fb.
