They want fast attacking football, they get lots of neat passing miles away from the opponents goal.

Watching Man U this season has been dire. The Southampton game was marginally better than for most of this season but it still was a dirge.

Suppose it comes down to is a number of wins achieved thru safe monotonous play better than fast attacking football that exposes your defence and may costs points.

I’m in the “prefer entertainment” camp myself – it’s how I like my football; but unfortunately it is more about profits and TV rights and the like nowadays. We are putting together an exciting front-line though – and getting in more attempts on goal – so maybe things will improve on the entertainment front.

A bad day for my sports teams.

Someone should have got the weighty person singing one second earlier and then my team wouldn’t have lost the Rugby League final here.

And the less said about the Arsenal match the better!

Every single one of Man U’s failings were exposed. Be glad Arsenal stopped at 3, Man City and any of the big European sides would have had you whimpering in the corner refusing to play another game of football this season after being hit for 7 or 8.

An already dodgy defence made far worse what with Ashley Young at left back (he’s just about a right winger so who knows why LVG had him as a left back).

An already slow midfield with the added burden of Wayne Rooney, who’s been rotten for the large majority of the year, which makes it even slower. Offered nothing in helping the defence yet wanted their normal 17 minutes to pick out the next pass for going forward.

An attacking line that when Martial isn’t involved would be outrun by a 2 legged tortoise with a limp.

And the answer LVG had at half time was replacing the right back Darmian, who was beyond terrible, with Valencia, who’s not a right back, and switching the anonymous Depay with Fellaini. Would have been more effect sticking an oak tree in the Arsenal box than bringing on Fellaini – and would have meant the sole tactic of hoping for something to happen at set pieces or long balls could have been stuck to.

Being top of the league was a con. Everyone looking on for the last 18 months knows that charging at Man U with pace will cause utter pandemonium in their ranks, it just finally fell to an Arsenal side on top of their game to highlight it.

Still. Brendan Rodgers got sacked which was nice of Liverpool as it steals the headlines.

^ Agree with all of that.

Terrible selections by LVG. He should have had Rojo or Blind at left back and never never never play Carrick and Schweinsteiger at the same time (Schneiderlin should have started ahead of one of them). Wilson should have started head of Rooney. I am getting really really tired of seeing Rooney bog down the attack week in and week out.

We may well still have lost but would have been in the game a bit more.

^ And Rooney’s still doing it.

I would talk a bit more about the lads – but it’s all just too embarassing.

Still wretched to watch. Wilson’s been punted to Brighton, probably for being too attacking in training and not passing it 47 times before losing possession.

If i were a Man U fan i’d be envious of Liverpool and how they are playing. Actually if i were a Man U fan i’d be envious of how Queens Park are playing.

At least LVG has got his tactics sorted – dont let anybody score for 88 minutes and then throw the tree trunk (aka Fellaini) on and hope the ball hits it to secure a 1-0 win.

And so the Special One is now the Sacked One after a dreadful beginning to the season for Chelsea and him managing to lose the dressing room.

It’s now being suggested Man U may be interested in him, despite the disaster he has been this season.

It’s “suggested” that we are interested in half the managers on the planet and all of the players.

I’m hoping for Guardiola or Simeone.

One very bad season doesn’t make Mourinho a bad manager, he’ll get another lucrative role at a big club within months if he wants it. Unless a top 4 spot begins to look unlikely I can’t see the Glazers at Man U making any move as all they care about is revenue; qualifying for the Champions league and trying to maintain a title challenge gives them that. The style of football doesn’t matter to them. The only hope for a change otherwise would be LVG to quit but he’s far too arrogant to do so.

Its a shame Mourinho has been sacked as I detest Chelsea and it was fun seeing them being humiliated almost weekly whilst Mourinho threw more and more spectacular tantrums in the media.

Should be noted that once again players who make little effort to play to their potential and step up to fight their way out of a slump keep their jobs whilst the manager is sacked. With it being Chelsea no one will care as Mourinho gets paid millions for getting sacked.

Both of who are connected with the Chelsea vacancy now. Caretaker manager until the end of the season attempting to salvage something from this car crash season with a “permanent” manager taking over in the summer. Pep seems to be the man they want. There are already rumours of talks, with Pep supposedly saying he’d want at least 10 new players.

The fall of Chelsea has been remarkable to watch, from champions last season to one point off the relegation zone. Jose should never have pissed off the doctor, it’s all been downhill since.

The rumours going around are that Hiddink will take charge until the end of the season and that Pep is definitely going to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season. However Man City are supposedly going to relieve Pellegrini of his position as manager at the end of the season and they have been eyeballing Pep for a good while.

My mate has a Chelsea season ticket and the rumours are rife………No Champagne this Christmas for Mr Special…….He got rid of the Fizzy’O……I wonder why???

As it is, I hope he’s back somewhere soon……..He’s a great manager and he’ll be,  ‘The Driven One’   wherever he gets a chance to prove himself.

I’d like to see him go to Nottingham Forest and win the European Cup……He’s special…….But he’s not that special.

I just wish my lot would start playing some football that people want to watch – whatever the result.

I’m hoping for one of those “It’s A Wonderful Life” moments where someone takes VG  to another reality to see how happy folks would be if the lads went back to playing the way we used to.

You might want to forget about the performance and the result @trcanberra as Norwich two up and Man U playing terribly with no shots on target after 55 minutes.

Yes, another inspiring result – we are really on a roll at the moment.

You won the last 35 minutes of the game, probably had more corners and if the season ends as the table currently sits you qualify for the Europa League and dont have to bother getting embarrassed in the Champions League to get there. Plently of reasons to be cheerful.

Yes – until we slip to our customary 7th spot and get dumped out of the Europa by a team I’ve never heard of and out of the FA Cup at home by a Championship side.

I think their next game, which is against Chelsea, could prove pivotal for van Gaal.

Whatever the truth about the rumours about Jose and Man U, there’s no doubt vG isn’t feeling secure in his position, and Jose has indicated he wants a job as soon as. I think he’ll want that be in the Premier League. He has a point to prove.

It could really boil down to whether a club is ready to risk taking a chance with Jose. As great a manager as he is, and he undoubtedly is, he’s volatile. If Chelsea hadn’t backed him over the doctor, and had demanded he apologise, he wouldn’t have lost the dressing room. Chelsea showed today they can play, just not with Jose as manager.

It is whether another club is prepared to risk him, and if that club is Man U.
