And where is the location of this fine event? Bishops gate? Timbuktu? The moon? Ill make it there!
I purposely stayed away from the next verse. Knowing where “the line” is, I fought against my comedic instincts and abstained from using a 3 syllable word that rhymes with Bishopsgate.

She will be quite nearly bare, how obsceneShe is only wearing hose and garters

On this day Mr. K will cherish his girl

Probably for the better!

In the crowds of teenage girls that followed the Beatles, there were very attractive girls in the crowd. Can you guys pick out one in particular?
I like the one in the green dress with the red hair up on the left. What a babe…

I much prefer the blonde in the middle with the waist length hair, blue eyes, with the pin that says “Marry Me Ringo!” and the three freckles on her left cheek.
And who says camera quality was bad back then?

I have a delicate issue to raise.
Yesterday , I volunteered at the local theater that’s showing AHDN again. And I noticed a couple of jokes more closely this time around – both about Ringo and drum and overcompensating and his drum kit “looming large in his legend.” Okay, I get they were general Freudian jokes about his manhood. But could there have been another level? Meaning, were they ironic jokes based on Ringo already being rumored to be the most well-endowed Beatle? When did that rumor start anyway? Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s heard this, because I started hearing that one when I was a teenager, right along with Milton Berle.
Thoughts? This one’s so out there, I felt the need to ask @Ahhh Girl if it was okay to post.

Personally, I’ve never heard that rumour at all! (Everyone knows about Milton Berle, however. And Charlie Chaplin and those other well-hung Henrys.) If that rumour indeed exists (not doubting you that it does – I’ve just never encountered it), maybe it has something to do with the fact that (Freud again) Ringo had the biggest nose?
I’m not gonna speculate on whether it’s true or not. (Or go through the “Ringo Pics” thread to look for old bathing suit photos – I’ll leave that for the fangirls here!)
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Bless you, Anna, for confirming I’m not alone. I’ve heard that about Paul too.

Or fanboys. ;-> I don’t even care about the truth of the rumor itself, I’m just curious to know how old it is. Ah, you might have something with the nose factor.
It’s very strange to me that I would have heard this rumor for more than half my life, even during times I wasn’t taking much notice of The Beatles. The Milton Berle thing was an open joke that I think even he acknowledged, so that’s less of a mystery. I must have come across it in a gossip column… though I vaguely remember it coming up in a giggly college conversation – not about him in particular, but celebrities in general.

…the most well-endowed Beatle?…
The rumor that I heard was that the Beatles themselves were obsessed over this most “well-endowed” thing; which manifested itself in the writing of such songs as “It Won’t Be Long ,” “Long, Long, Long ,” and “Blue Jay Way ,” with its paranoid chorus “Please don’t be long…”

@parlance I just saw a quote, don’t remember source or know if its a real quote, but it was,
Ringo: I may have a big nose, but Paul has a small –
You get the idea. This implies Ringo’s is bigger. I’d never heard anything about that until I read that quote though.
As for those jokes, I never really knew what exactly he meant my his drums looming large in his legend. The “active compensatory factor” part, (once I finally heard that joke, missed it the first time or two I watched the movie) is supposed to be about his “inferiority complex” as George says… As a coping mechanism I guess.
I thought that one was funny, and don’t know if I’m explaining it well, but I don’t think that has anything to do with his drumstick.
