Still on my classical kick – I picked up a 2nd-hand copy of the first season of Classical Destinations on DVD. It’s a series that showcases the places where the great classical composers were born and lived. Some of the scenery is breathtaking but the music is a bit too quiet in the background for my liking. Decent enough show though.
The host, as it turned out in the episode set in Prague, played the part of Schikaneder in the film Amadeus.

Watching ‘The Body’, episode 16 of ‘Buffy’ and its extremely harrowing, especially for a tv series that was so often quite light and had demons getting killed alongside snappy one-liners.
Season 5 is so superior to season 4. Ok Dawn exists but she’s not in that often – thankfully.

Well, I watched “Invader Zim” for the first time in a good 5 years. I just saw this episode for the first time in a long time and I’m still trying to hold in my vomit… or I just have an empty stomach. Anyways, not the best thing to have while watching that…..

Well that was bizarrely entertaining.

A lot of the early 2000’s shows have more horror elements.

Ahh, yes, Invader Zim. One of my favourite cartoons.

Game of Thrones Season 6 starts tonight
I don’t want to detract from The Beatleness of the forum by creating a GoT thread and I know there are a good few GoT watchers on here so does anyone want to be a part of a super-duper mega PM where we discuss what happens in the episode once it airs?
Feel free to PM me and I’ll start it all

I’m a fan, but not a super fan. I did read the books, and I can tell you that the last couple of thousand pages was a long slog. I didn’t PM ASJ because I record the episodes and don’t see them until later. Probably all the excitement has died down by then. If you haven’t seen Melisandre at a baby shower, however, you owe it to yourself to watch.
It has an “I Frame” so I wasn’t able to embed it, but here’s the link:

I agree with the 1000 page slog, I’m rereading Feast and Dance together and while I’m enjoying it much more than I did the first time, nothing really happens over the two books- bar getting introduced to some characters far too late in a series to even care about them and GRRM getting himself into more plot twists
I hope Winds comes out later this year, I’ve only waited for 2 years for it to be written but I can’t imagine being a fan from the late 90’s when AGoT was written and still waiting for books to come out- it’s almost cruel!
Reactions to last night’s episode: Meh. 6/10. The writers appear to be getting themselves out of a storyline that everyone hates but they went about it the wrong way. Also the dialogue for the past season (and apparently this season) is awful, I expect one of the characters to come out with a “lol, wtf?” at any point.
In saying that Alfie Allen is great as always, that fella doesn’t get enough respect as an actor. Dinklage shouldn’t be collecting the nominations for Best Actor it should go to Alfie.
And of course, that ending though…………………ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

A lot of scene-setting in the first episode. That’s OK if the scenes they are setting pay off. I have to say that the whole situation with Arya leaves me cold. Get her out of there so she can have some fun and kick some ass! A girl who is no one….zzzzz.

I think Season 5 has been the most disappointing so far. Dan and Dave really take the mick with going astray from the books. That would be all well and good if it led to anywhere but the majority of the time it doesn’t *cough Jaime Season 5 anyone!*
Then again they have just butchered Dorne- it was alright in the books but the show made it atrocious with corny dialogue and acting (here’s looking at you Sand Snakes- you’d think they’re Charlie’s Angels or something ).
Anyways, here’s hoping the show gets back to its former glory of seasons 1-4!

Oh yeah, I just remembered that I forgot to post about how I like to watch Three’s Company the last time I was here…
‘Tis a hilarious show from the late seventies/early eighties about two girls who find a lad in their bathtub and eventually they all start living together in their apartment.
I technically only watch it when it just happens to be on at the time I’m watching tv, but that’s almost never so compared to the other shows I like Three’s Company would probably be the one I watch most often (I really should start recording it ).
Anyways, if you’re looking to watch any kind of retro comedy, I strongly recommend this one.

Ok the tv programmes I am watching are (including Netflix)The West Wing
House of Cards
Game of Thrones
I am not a big TV watcher, I usually do some crochet while the TV is on so I am not paying much attention to it.
I watched all of them.

‘Course I did, stayed up ’til 3:30am this morning watching it and going on forums afterwards. Had to wake up at 8:00am so that was quite an experience…. (it was worth it though 😉 ).
Plan on doing the same thing next week, as well, seeing as it’s a bank holiday.
