Has anyone else been watching Angie Tribeca? When I started seeing the previews for it, I had no idea what to expect. Curious, we watched the pilot episode and were delighted. Anyone who likes the old Police Squad TV show or the Naked Gun movies will get a kick out of this show. Lots of well-timed bad puns and sight gags (“How many Bakers have been killed so far?”…”A dozen”…”Ahhhhh, so 13 then”.) Even the opening theme has a running gag featuring a screaming cop – the reason for his screaming is different in each episode. Give it a go and let me know what you think.

It just premiered during a 10-episode marathon over 17 and 18 January (odd in itself). We have only seen the first 5 episodes. Our cable TV provider features it for free in their “On Demand” menu, so we’ve been playing catch-up.

It started showing here last week (?).

I watched The X-Files when I was 9 but I haven’t watched it since due to an event related to the The X-Files that left me crying because of an a*****e policeman.

I might tell it here one day.

I still hold a vendetta against that man.

I’m curious to read what you think of it (who put Scully’s face in a cider press?). The first 2 episodes didn’t do much for me, but I enjoyed the third one.

Zag loves it. She’s the one who got me hooked on it when it first started.

The sad news yesterday that magician Paul Daniels has an incurable brain tumour leads me to post an episode of ‘Wizbit‘ which I grew up watching. To this day I have no idea what on earth Wizbit was (aside from some weird alien) or even going on in each episode. Kids TV back in the 80’s was a very different experience. Paul Daniels was the best host of ‘Wipeout’.

House of Cards and Orange is the New Black on Netflix.

Also Better Call Saul and before that Breaking Bad.

Still none; I still have no antenna at this place and can’t decide whether or not to buy one (as the landlord is too cheap to do so).

I do have 3 box sets of the original Star Trek to catch up with on DVD.

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Am watching ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ from beginning to end and have reached season 4 episode ‘The Hush’ which is one of the scariest tv episodes i’ve ever seen. Every Now And Then you get the shock of your life and The Gentlemen are truly terrifying.

Supernatural is shown on e4 over here, @meanmistermustard. It’s not bad, but there’s no way I’d compare it to Buffy. I wouldn’t call them similar series, apart from the fact is that the main characters face demons of various kinds. I’d suggest it’s closer to The X-Files.

Hush is a great episode, probably in my top 3. You still have the genius of Once More, with Feeling to come – one of the bravest and most original hours of TV in years.

I’ve seen it all before. Season 4 is fair to middling (Adam is a crap season baddie) and then we get the arrival of Dawn who only stops being irritating in season 7. The episode with Dracula (season 5) i remember as being dire so will be interesting to see if it remains so.

I couldnt find anything on tv worth watching so decided to watch Buffy in full as its being shown on Syfy; season record and then work my way thru.

If anyone watches Vikings, here’s a Beatle link for you. http://www.designntrend.com/ar…..omance.htm

Here’s a snippet of the article.

Hirst, who is “so in love with The Beatles,” also revealed that Ragnar and Yidu’s relationship was inspired by the way Yoko Ono set John Lennon up with her assistant May Pang.

“Yoko was afraid of losing John, [and] one of the ways of controlling him was to get her assistant — I mean, this is a very cynical way of putting it, but that’s more or less what happened,” Hirst explained.
