Christopher Who?
Not sure if you are being serious but in case you are not he’s a very good actor, if we completely ignore that ‘Lennon Naked’ ever existed.

Haha that’s a hell of a battle 😀
Watching/rewatching Ken Burns The Civil War as I’m also reading Shelby Foote’s own account. Some amazing characters in this history, you couldn’t make it up.
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

The exceptional ‘Speed 3’ episode of ‘Father Ted’ is on.
I was watching the Christmas episode earlier, the show was pure-genius and it’s such a pity that it hasn’t really hit outside of the UK, Australia and Ireland.
^ For anyone who has never seen Father Ted before, go watch that and if you don’t laugh within the first 10 minutes, you get your money back. Everytime I walk past the lingerie section in a shop I always think “it’s Ireland biggest lingerie section, I understand”.
I’ve got the boxset of all of the episodes and every couple of months I always watch through all of them- I never get sick of it.

I cannot think of any other comedy that didn’t have even just one average episode. The highly, and rightly, acclaimed ‘Fawlty Towers’ had one or two ropey episodes and the first series of ‘Blackadder’ is unwatchable.

I watched…..a day late…..Running Wild with Bear Grylls and Obama
OB comes over well in this show……..as you would expect in a publicity stunt ………His team made sure he was tested to the extreme…(eating salmon alfresco)….That could have been tricky but he coped well.
He spoke in his relaxed manner and was affable enough.
But dear me Bear!………..I know you drink piss, and even San Miguel Light………But now you have to tell us what licking out every wrinkle of barack’s arse tastes like………It was an ’em’bear’ass’ment’
At one point Bear says to Obama, (who has so far only mastered strolling and talking at the same time on a pleasant day in Alaska),
“You look pretty fit……..I couldn’t have brought another world leader like Churchill here….Ha ha”
(You bleeding could’ve Bear, except he’d have left you behind, and known more about survival from his days on the run in South Africa than even you do).
Coy and glowing at the flattering comparison with this detested, figure (Churchill) who’s ‘Bust’ he dispatched back to England on his first day in the Oval office…..Barack agrees and replies modestly,
“Yes I’m still pretty cut……….So Michelle tells me.”
Yuck…….
I’m a big Grylls fan but that was 40 minutes out of my life………
I did wonder what Trump would have told Grylls to go and do, if like Obama, he’d been handed ‘Bear Spray’ as a last defence, (other than the snipers and circling attack helicopters), against the wild, less craven bears they might stumble across?
Obama come over as a very nice chap……..Grylls in this show as a manipulated, oleaginous cretin…..
A quick poll though:
Who would you want with you, lost and fighting for survival in Alaska…….Obama, Hilary or Trump?
I know in that situation what card I’d play.

Watching an episode of ‘Kitchen Nightmares US’ – i haven’t seen since the last time I posted questioning the show. Why in every episode does Gordon Ramsey go in arguing, shouting and screaming on the first day and then calm down the next day and be nice, explaining he’s there to help not destroy the owner? And why doesn’t he go looking at the food in storage before the first night of service when the food, which he has tasted, is so bad?
After the first 3 episodes why didnt he change his approach and be more pleasant, surely he should have had the intelligence to change his approach when it was obvious the shouting and being aggressive didn’t work?
Why does the manager agree to being on the show and then be so resistant to any help?
Why do I ever watch this show?

About Chef not checking first night is because he wants to get a feel for how they do their business first day
About the bosses resistant to change. It might be that people can get stuck in a rut and don’t want someone to tell them wrong also they could think that Chef will come in and love their food so boost in business.
Kitchen Nightmares is no longer running in the US.
Aggressive does work. It gets him payed. Plus he does switch up his style but he is a perfectionist so his first inclination when someone screws up is to get mad.

I actually once met a chef who knew Gordon Ramsey personally, and he said that the whole mean and angry thing is all for TV’s sake and that he’s really a nice guy in real life.

Being a huge fan of Roald Dahl and his short stories I downloaded a couple of episodes of the ‘Tales Of The Unexpected’ TV series which dramatise the stories in the book and my word they were awful. The only good thing was Dahl’s introductions.
I might have to re-read the stories just to get the TV rubbish out of my head.
