I thought the reboot was cheaply done, often fell into bordering on slapstick and the actors nowhere close to carrying off their roles – was surprised one or two had a history of playing them on stage. There was an integrity and believability in the original which was nowhere in the remake.

I attended some uni lectures two years ago when I was seeing if I’d like to do commerce in college. The economics lecturer was addicted to showing ‘Yes Minister’ clips to prove his point on things, I’m still not quite sure why…

Because they are funny?

I do the same during some of my public policy workshops for government departments 🙂

Oh I find ‘Yes Minister’ quite amusing but the strange thing was, was that he just seemingly pulled them out of nowhere.

Our history teacher showed us complete episodes of ‘Blackadder Goes Forth’. Best thing he could have done.

We were studying a novel set during WW1 for the Leaving Cert this year and when half of the class (i.e the lads) were gone to a match for the day and the class was half-empty I asked the teacher could we watch Blackadder Goes Fourth to see what life was like in the trenches (that and I need my weekly dose of Hugh Laurie). Of the 14 people in the class only 3 others excluding myself knew who or what Blackadder was 🙁

On a similarly-related topic they also found the animated Christmas film ‘The Snowman’ boring a-hard-days-night-paul-11

I refuse to believe anyone can find ‘The Snowman’ boring – tho ‘Father Christmas’ (I hope that’s the correct name – the one with Mel Smith doing the voice over) is better.

Currently watching ‘Zoo’ as recommended by Zig – on episode 1. Is it wrong wanting the lions to eat everyone, they’re so lovely?

No more than wanting the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park to eat whoever wrote the scripts for the sequels to the movie.

Yeah……..AND why did they call it Jurassic Park when most of the fun dinosaurs lived in the Cretaceous Period?

Zoo looks good……..It will replace Dance Moms on my telly list.

The opening two episodes of ‘Zoo’ were ok but hopefully it ups the pace. It currently has that common feel of having stretched out the story to fill a required number of episodes.

I don’t really watch much TV, but sometimes I actually watch TV (though its not very often).

The only TV show I really have been watching is Treetop Cat Rescue on Animal Planet. I watch it occasionally, and it’s a little interesting, but I don’t know whyahdn_george_01

My wife and I discovered the BBC Scotland series Monarch of the Glen on Netflix last weekend. The show itself is pretty fun and the outdoor scenes in the Highlands are remarkable. Rolling green hills-and-dales with lakes and water running all round and through. If that’s where you live @meanmistermustard you are very lucky and must be a Child Of Nature

If you haven’t seen Thai TV Adds…….they play on the heart-strings. I think they are good…..We’d get a bit cynical about this in the West…….Shame.

Here’s one…….

I know Zig raved about ‘Zoo’ and so i apologise for this post in advance.

I’ve watched 2 episodes and a third of the third and i’m finding it about as tense and nervy as watching an episode of ‘Spot The Dog’ (see spoiler). There’s more tension in a Swede after a very therapeutic massage.

When the foreign guy at the end of episode 2 said the future of the world depended on the blonde haired lass getting involved I burst out laughing whilst slowly losing the will.

The animal attacks are so rare and pass so quickly you’re past the point of caring and its not right but i’d be delighted if all of them joined together and ate all the cast cause if one of the actors in the show started acting competently the others might just get a shock and join in.

I doubt i’ll make it thru all 13 episodes. Heck i doubt i’ll make it thru part three.

You’d think if animals were eating humans folk would be a bit more panicky. Instead they’re acting, well not acting cause they can’t – erm, behaving if they’ve been told everything is under control so go home, put the kettle on and make yourself cosy with a cup of tea and a hobnob.

Now where’s a mad lion or chimpanzee i can cheer on to eat the guy in glasses who’s hanging out with a brunette. Oh here’s a horse. And another. Oh, they’ve walked on.

I’ve just discovered ‘Blunt’

Weird and wonderful….hope it catches on.

Patrick Stewart plays the lead character…Blunt..he’s also the producer of the show……..But behind it is the hand of Seth McFarland…….’nuff said.

Currently watching ‘Hunted’ on channel 4 where members of the public go on the run and are tracked and hunted down by a team of experts. Its interesting to see it it from both sides and some of the mistakes they make.

Edit: Two of those being hunted were slowly wandering down a town high-street after getting off public transport!!! Idiots. Deserved to get caught.
