Oh, and I also caught the tail-end of a classical music documentary hosted by Aled Jones who was born in the same hospital I was and grew up in the same small Welsh village (which is now about triple the size it was when I was there as it has become a bit of a trendy place to live for people who work in Bangor).

I caught Al Madrigal’s special about exploring his Latino roots called “Half Like Me” on Hulu. I wish it were an ongoing series.

Season 15 of ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’ starts again this Saturday. Feels like season 14 only finished a couple of weeks back, tho that might be because aside from Ted Danson its become a very pale shadow of its former self (tho still better than when it had Ray in it). Generally you know 3 minutes in who did it, how and why and that only works if its ‘Columbo’, certainly not when you’re not meant to know until the end.
And upon reading wiki Nick Stokes is leaving at the end of the season. They really should call it quits and cancel the show.

I’m not watching Game of Thrones because I know it would be too scary/nightmare-inducing for me, having read the first book. So I was surprised to find that not one, but two of my favorite actors have been on the show – Noah Taylor (Flirting, Shine) and Aidan Gillen (the original Queer as Folk).

I grew up watching ‘Saved By The Bell’ and the cast (minus Screech for obvious reasons) reunited for SNL. Its fantastic seeing them all back (i never liked Screech).

I was way too old for Saved by the Bell, but I liked it’s total goofiness. I also watched Degrassi Jr. High, now that was a good show, meaningful plot lines and characters (probably because it was made in Canada lol). I can’t stand all the police shows on these days. First it was the surreality ones like COPS and ID. Then Dateline spent about 2 straight years on pedophiles (an issue worthy of exposure for sure). Now every weeknight has a different flavor of CSI and there’s other ones. I hate commercials, I try to tape stuff so I can fast forward through them. Sports and the occasional live event are all I watch with commercials. I like several HBO shows – GoT, Girls, Real Time w/Bill Maher, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. He’s a British emigre’ to the states and his comedy is hybrid – and somehow he makes it both hilarious and meaningful. You can find tons of youtubes of the show (and I suggest you check one out, if you like off the wall slapstick stuff). Here’s a good one where he reams FIFA:
I have been saving stuff on my dvr – I now have AHDN , MMT, Living in the Material World, the making of MMT, and Rockshow permanently saved
BTW did you hear about the upcoming SNL 40 year anniversary show? I guess they’re going to show both clips from times gone by as well as get some of the old performers to play (Chris Rock, for one, who has never hosted or been in any SNL since he left the show). It airs Sun 16 Jan Feb at 8pm east coast usa time on NBC. They’d better pick a good Gilda clip! http://www.hollywoodreporter.c…..ary-697617

Same here. That and California Dreams. I called it the Peter Engel Power Hour.

Yes, dutifully posted at the upcoming TV/radio appearance thread.

@Matt Busby John Oliver is great! Started watching whatever his channel posts on YouTube after @parlance put up a video of his.
Would probably enjoy the whole show, but I believe it’s on a channel I don’t have.

I don’t have a lot of time to follow up on series so I enjoy watching shows where there is no continuity issues.
I have watched a lot of Impractical Jokers over the last couple of months and enjoy it, bit silly but still entertaining

Also watching The X-Files again when I have time for a longer show.
Ah, another man who “wants to believe” I see. I have my complete-X-File collection and watched all of it last year. Perfect until Agent Mulder disappears –The X Files were Mulder and Scully, the show didn’t work without them both.

Reports go that they are looking to do another show (or film, i forget) with Anderson and Duchovny, the stipulation being those two must be in it. Not a show i got into.

There’s this new series called How To Get Away With Murder that I watched one episode of on telly. Not sure what to think of it.
And every Sunday I watch Divorce, which is a Dutch one about 4 completely different guys who are..well, divorced, obviously. They live together in this big house and go through all these different things. It’s good and funny. I like it. Have been following it since the start.
Also still following Revenge, which doesn’t get broadcasted here anymore.
Unfortunately I don’t really have the time to keep up with tv shows and series. I’m about 4 or 5 seasons behind with Grey’s Anatomy and have quite a long list of series I’d still like to watch.

I loved X-Files, but I stopped watching by the last season, and I hated the second movie with a passion. I’m not really looking forward to a reboot, or whatever they would call it.
