Have discovered ITV on demand have all three series of ‘Cracker‘ available to watch for free so started watching that last night. Was looking for a good detective series that i havent seen most of the episodes of.

Also, a month after catching their panel at Comic Con, I just started watching Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim’s show Venture Bros. on Netflix.

I found a show a year ago on fuse called Billy on the Street. It’s from Funny or Die, and the host, Billy Eichner, is hilarious. The whole things pretty hilarious. He runs around New York City asking people stupid questions. The new season starts next month.
@IveJustSeenAFaceo I was looking back at older posts, and I just found your reference to the show. Have you seen his rant about Johnny Depp? I heart Johnny Depp, but it’s so spot on.

Still catching up on The Venture Bros. It’s brimming with pop culture references – mostly from the 80s. But in one of the episodes, a character made a references to someone’s “Beatle boots.”

He’s my favorite.
In my recent show watching, I just started The Walking Dead. It’s excellent so far (I’m almost done with season 1)

Walking Dead is simultaneously excellent in terms of writing/direction/acting, yet also grotesquely offensive in terms of ultra-violence. I struggled with this tension for about two seasons, then had to give up in protest and disgust.
Watching a good show now, Annika Bengtzon: Crime Reporter, about a female journalist in Sweden (all in Swedish with English subtitles).

Exactly. I say replace Strong with Bayer at Weekend Update. Sure, Strong’s done well at WU, but she’s a much stronger sketch actor than Bayer is.I can understand why she was chosen though. That character she created indicated she had the properly savvy/ironic sensibility an Update anchor requires, and I don’t know if any other cast member (other than Killam, who stated he didn’t want the role) has it.
@WETSRoosa Looks like they’ve decided that Cecily Strong makes a better featured player than anchorwoman.

@parlance I had a feeling they would when they saw how good Strong was in sketches last season, but that still leaves Vanessa Bayer in the lurch. Weekend Update is really a safe haven for those who are funny, but don’t necessarily have the personality needed to carry sketches. Look at Seth Meyers: he was good but somewhat forgettable in sketches, but once he went full-time to WU, he found a home, tailored his comedic chops for that slot, and his place in SNL history was set. (And it allowed him to became a behind-the-scenes cornerstone that SNL lost when Fey and Poehler left.) I don’t Bayer could really reach Meyers’ level, but I think her and Jost could have that good “repartee” that Meyers and Poehler did.

@WETSRoosa Well, the article I linked to doesn’t name Bayer, it names a writer named Michael Che (one of the newer correspondents on the Daily Show).
