I wish I could play the xylophone….
This is funky but…
it’s not Riverdance (and no I’ll never let that go, despite the fact I wasn’t even born when Riverdance premiered!)

I still think we should submit ‘My Lovely Horse’, if we could find a way to resurrect Dermot Morgan that would be great. I mean we’d get 12 off the UK anyways so we wouldn’t get the dreaded ‘nul points’.

So mmm who are your predicted 12, 10 and 8 points from the UK?
Oh no is Conchita singing….
I am still adamant that The Netherlands should have won! I cannot remember Conchita’s song from last year.

No nil pois for the UK.
Russia 10 in front after 10 rounds of voting. Too slow this voting. Spend 10 minutes going to the country and then waiting 10 minutes for the dramatic pause to be done. Estonia link gone before we get the vote.

Sweden come from behind to win comfortably. The effects are really good even if the song isnt my thing at all.
The UK came 4th last with 5 points; the Aussies got 5th. Maybe we should just swap with them.
A disappointing selection of songs.

I watch this every year with my two best friends, and this year was no different. We decided to do a drinking game. Drink if the singer is winking, drink if there is a windmachine, drink if they sing a flat note, drink if there’s a lot of flags being waved in the Green Room, singer saying ”I love you” at the end of the song, etc. We soon found out we’d be roaring drunk within the hour if we continued.
Summary of things:
– Glad Sweden won. Catchy song, not something I’d listen to usually, but still catchy. Awesome effects. Handsome guy. Wouldn’t mind having a bit of knackebrod with him *wink wink*
– Russia annoyed the f**k out of me. Very cheesy and the girl was crying after 8 countries had given points and they were first. Idiot. And then they lost. Ha!
– Didn’t expect Italy to get so many points! Boring and cheesy.
– Belgium’s song sounded a bit like Royals by Lorde. Liked it though.
– Liked Estonia, though it looked as if they imitated our entry from last year. It was good until the woman started singing. And the crying towards the end? Come on!
– Can’t believe neither Germany nor Austria got any points. I quite liked Austria’s song, and their piano was on fire! Literally!
– Cyprus was boring as feck. Only remember it because the guy looked a lot like a Dutch criminal who was in the news recently
– Latvia. Now what the f**k was that.
– The UK was bad but a lot of fun. And now we know we don’t have to send Caro Emerald because it won’t do anything.
– Montenegro. Meh.
– Hungary. Boring. One of the singers actually lives in The Netherlands, apparently.
– Spain. WHAT. Go back to being a WAG please.
– Albania. Can’t believe this girl won The Voice in her country. It was appalling, and by far the worst thing that participated. Can’t believe she got chosen over us, even though I hate our entry.
– I want to slap Conchita
– Those presenters were annoying the living daylight out of me.
– I liked Serbia’s glittery hair.
– Liked Georgia’s song.
– Azerbaijan, where get those dancers from? The Exorcist?
– Edsilia Rombley, the woman who handed out the points for The Netherlands, was actually wearing the dress our entry was supposed to be wearing. Our entry got completely slaughtered for it and decided to go with the jumpsuit instead.
It was fairly boring compared to usual imo. I like the ridiculousness of Eurovision, that’s why I like to watch it. This was all a bit samey and boring.

I’ll certainly watch it next year if possible but it was very samey and not enough of the What The Heck’s. Countries need to be more embracing of being harmless oddballs for my viewing pleasure.
Conchita was annoying (as Linde said) and the presenters were wooden, especially the one who stood on the left (as you watched).
Out of the two i’m glad Sweden run as the effects were incredible and, altho i wasnt a fan of either, the better song.
Surprised Germany got no points and was that the first time the hosts, Austria, got no points?
