Which is why I have suggested decisions being made in October. The problem in the past has been not enough time being available by dint of the fact that talk about the upcoming poll usually starts in mid-November, whereas this suggestion allows time for discussion and decisions ahead of the poll, gives enough time to make any alterations, and doesn’t exclude anyone who joins the forum in the next five months from joining in the conversation should they want to.

Sorry folks. I’ve either been working far too much, completely exhausted, recovering from being completely exhausted, dealing with covid or trying to have some enjoyment in life to face the idea of starting any discussions at all. I’m off from next week so will start a discussion thread then for this – if one isn’t up by the end of next week (Friday 3rd June) tell me off.
That will give 4 months or so for people to have the chance to post their thoughts and discuss all the details to have it well prepared for December 1st when voting normally starts.
And I’ll add again. Everyone who takes part in the discussions are to reman courteous, polite, respectful and open to other peoples opinions; it’s fine to disagree but please be willing to compromise as it’s the forum’s awards.

After some thought and mod discussion, the plan is that the EOYA discussion thread will be posted and open for everyone to contribute from Wednesday 1st June 2022 thru to Monday 31st October 2022. This gives five full and complete months for everyone to discuss the forum awards categories in a polite respectful matter, leaving November for arranging the awards categories and then the polls/voting can open on the 1st December.
If anyone has any issues with that, let a mod know; tho why anyone would is beyond me.

Shouldn’t that be “a polite respectful manner” rather than “matter” @meanmistermustard?
Many thanks to the mods for deciding not to make it the hurried discussion it was last time, allowing the time and space for as many Forumpudlians to join in as possible. Am I right in assuming that the actual decisions on any changes will be made in October?

No, matter as it’s stuff of words and sustenance which should be polite.

The discussion will close at the end of October. If everyone agrees by that point then obviously that is what we will go with, but if there are still issues then it will have to come down to the mods to make the final decisions otherwise it could continue forever. I really hope the latter is not what happens but that comes down to people being willing to compromise and put aside their own individual wants for what is better for the forum as a whole. It’s down to everyone on here how the discussion goes and how the final awards are settled upon. We, the mods, want it to be an open respectful conversation with as little intervention as possible but we aren’t afraid of stepping in and acting if required.
