I wish I could remember what my “creative contribution” was. These days I just seem to post in “The Baker’s Dozen” game. And even that does not seem to be that active as we have trouble finding enough examples to complete a list. And Dr. Evil stole my mojo for the picture game.
Anyway, I do tend to get distracted by other things and don’t explore Beatles Bible like I used to. But it’s still nice to know that I am not forgotten.

More importantly, Joe puts his hand into his pocket to pay for the forum, without which none of us would, or could if we wanted to be, be here.

Joe is around when he can be. He has two sites to run (including adding and updating articles), a day job and a young family plus finding time to enjoy life. We have also just been been thru the Christmas and New Year period when kids are off school and many families feel the need to visit each other, and covid continues to cause problems.
Joe doesn’t need to be here all the time, he has four mods he trusts to monitor and run the forum – it’s why they have been appointed.
I think I won an award. Thanks to all who voted but like others have said it doesn’t feel deserved. It’s nice to have a doorstop. Also thanks to @The Hole Got Fixed for doing everything; seriously. I literally did nothing except post on here a few times.
I think it was ASJ who mentioned refreshing the awards. A discussion will be done, hopefully starting by the end of the month, where folk can openly discuss how the 2022 Awards will function (if at all). There will clearly need to be compromise on all sides as it has been seen in previous discussions that there are opposing opinions on the categories etc. Hopefully everyone will be grown-up throughout the discussions as nothing will be able to proceed if it is reduced to arguments, accusations and bringing up comments from years ago as some kind of point proving. Folk talk about the community dwindling but the only way it will remain and continue is if folk accept people and their differing opinions and look to what is better for all and the forum going forward, not only for what individuals want.

How many people ultimately voted in this poll?
We ended up with 9 people voting, so we ended up with decent turnout – but there are some categories that there were very few votes in.
And +1 exactly what mmm said, very well put.

@Magill, to “access” the “press room” click on the “Reveal Spoiler” link in this post https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..9/#p370172
From there, save the icon for your badge and then you can add it to your signature if you want to do that. Congrats on an award.
Looks like I’m still loved around here. Thank you all! Here’s to a Beatley 2022 for one and all.

Well! I don’t know what I’ve done this year to deserve these awards (I totally forgot to even vote this time – the first time since I joined, I think, that I forgot ), but I am deeply grateful
Thanks all and I hope to provide another fulfilling year of excellent avatars, creativity, signatures, and Hmmms!

I won it far too many years in a row. And you’re much nicer than I am. I’m that guy who is always loudly voicing his opinion. (That award made me laugh).

Ok so let’s do our choices on this now and settle things before December.
@meanmistermustard you said “After that there will be a discussion, more than likely in a separate thread, on the awards next year – if they even take place, which will be open for a good few months. All that is asked is when posting, if you post, please be respectful and polite when posting. It’s fine to disagree but keep it civil. “
I agree that another thread would be best. I think atn is the best place for the discussion thread since this is an atn end of year award poll.

While agreeing that there is no problem with opening the discussion, @Starr Shine?, you seem to be suggesting it should be done quite quickly:

@meanmistermustard, in what he said, doesn’t see it as something that needs to be hurried:

Myself, I agree with mmm that it doesn’t need to be hurried. I see no problem with the discussion running up until the end of October, with final decisions being made during that month. It gives whoever runs this year’s poll the month of November to put it together ready for the beginning of December, as well as allowing any new Forumpudlians who join us in the next few months the opportunity to voice their opinions should they want to.
We have plenty of time until December.

It is just that in the past few years, discussions end up being too close to the end of year awards which results in more heat and less productivity due to the lack of time remaining. Which is why having it be further removed from the time might be a better idea so we can have a productive conversation about it.
This is coming from someone with a masters in procrastination. Better to tear the bandaid off now and give more people time to weigh in.
