“(your virtual trophy will be awaiting your return)”

Ooh – thank you all – I look forward to finding a spot on the wall to hang it on (once I clear away all the pesky Chrissy decorations my son hung up).

I’d also like to thank my parents, my dog (if I had one), my generous sponsors (my wife’s credit card), ebay ……   :)

Oh, I won two awards! Thanks everybody who organised and voted to make this a success. Last week I was ready to shut down the entire site (long dark night of the soul – don’t worry, it passed), but I’m glad we have a lovely community here. Let’s hope things remain good in 2014.

Semi-related, but I’m not sure where else to put it, WordPress do a quirky little round-up of site owners’ highlights through the year. I can’t share the link because it requires my login, but here’s something nice:

About 1,000,000 people visit the Seattle Space Needle every year. This blog was viewed about 6,300,000 times in 2013. If it were the Space Needle, it would take about 6 years for that many people to see it.

In 2013, there were 44 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 3,102 posts.

The busiest day of the year was August 22nd with 26,495 views. The most popular post that day was The Beatles’ final photo session.

Since launching in 2008 I’ve had 19,165,776 page views; nowadays I get over half a million a month and rising. Not bad for something created in my spare room because I was bored with my job!

Can buy me love! Please consider supporting the Beatles Bible on Amazon
Or buy my paperback/ebook! Riding So High – The Beatles and Drugs

Don't miss The Bowie Bible – now live!

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 If you ever do decide to throw in the proverbial towel, Joe, please give us enough warning so that we can let everyone know which other forum we will all migrate to so we can stay together. I can’t imagine life without you and all these beautiful people.

EDIT: just saw the stats. CONGRATS!! August 22, you say? Two day after I joined. Glad I could help bump those stats.

Congrats on your awards, Joe, and I hope that was a little pick-me-up. Thank you for creating this lovely community!

“Is this thing on?”

Just logging on to a computer for the first time in days after FINALLY being reunited with my wife and dog!!!

Thanks to all for the votes and congrats to all who brought home a ‘Teddie’ (we once nicknamed the award after Joe and Ellie‘s beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy). The Golden B’s will look nice on the mantle.

Thanks most of all to those who organized the project – thanks parlance for compiling/presenting. Well done!

Love it.

Wow, an award? Haven’t gotten a trophy since high school! This virtual trophy will go very well on my desk.

Sky999, fabulous clip on many levels. McCartney must have been ticked off to just say ‘thank you’ and leave. Why? And how did George Harrison fit into a “Let It Be ” award (but not Ringo).

Joe, congrats on the super stats. Truly a remarkable achievement.

Finally, congrats to the other winners and to all frequent posters who are all winners too.

John, Paul and George wrote the songs on Let It Be so the award would have went to them, Ringo didn’t so wouldn’t have been included.

Paul and Linda were in LA for Ram sessions and so went and picked it up the award; it was during the fall out of The Beatles split and the court-case where Paul had sued his band mates and friends and won and they weren’t getting on good terms so i doubt he was in the frame of mind to thank John, George and Ringo. Plus you have Allen Klein and there would be no way Paul was going to say anything about or to him that was broadcastable. Better to do a runner quickly.

Wonder if that’s why Linda went with him to the stage, to keep him in line?

Paul and Linda did everything together, they were they their own johnandyoko – tho thankfully without the nudity, shrieking or forcing crap ‘music’ down our throats and then having the gazzumption to tell us it was our hang-ups that were the reason for it being labelled as s**t.

It was during those same Grammy awards that “Let It Be ” (the song) lost out to “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” for song of the year. McCartney might have been disappointed/ticked off. On the other hand, that award probably came out long after the  “musical score” award, so I think the explanations put forth above are more realistic.

Amen, sister! Where are the *really* good pictures of Paul that we know Linda must have taken? While mmm is breaking into Apple’s vault, the Paulettets will be rummaging around in every building on the McCartney farm looking for the pictures. If all we can find are the negatives, I’ll pay to develop them…to be shared with only a select group, of course.
