(25 f&**&%% minutes later, after trying to post this one little measy Godfricking*#*#@(*$ post, and encountering technical computer delays of various kinds which would be too tedious to recount, I’m finally posting this…)
John Lennon pronounces “666” in a very juicy way in his song “Freda People (Bring On the Lucie)” from his Mind Games album. Even my rather devout Greek Orthodox friend had to chuckle when I played it for him (back in 1991).
The apposite lyrics:
We don’t care what rules you’re playing
We don’t even wanna play your game
You think you’re cool, you know what you are doing
666 is your name
Faded flowers, wait in a jar, till the evening is complete... complete... complete... complete...

Can’t the votes be open for the first 2 weeks or so of December, close the week before Christmas, and the results given first week of January? Would give time to finalise the categories, folks have a deadline so its not left lingering for months and not during the real traumatic period, and then a couple of weeks for Parlance to tally them up. Little rush and avoid the 8/10 days of Christmas and New Year. And have the thread stuck so folks can see it and it doesn’t get lost.
NO, BECAUSE SOMETHING CRAZY INTENSE CAN HAPPEN ON DECEMEBR 31 AND THEN THE RESULTS WOULD BE INACCURATE. You don’t need that many weeks to count them up, that should take less than a day. It’s not like there’s going to be that many people voting.

If that. That’s why I suggested voting before Christmas break mid-December. But if people want to keep it open to the end of the year, it’s no big deal.

And I just want to note that, for a change, it was NOT me who took the “Revolver – is it underrated?” thread off track – I just went with the flow for a bit and then tried to get it back ON track

No MMM, the world ended last year, remember?
I don’t really care until when it’s open. As long as it’s open for longer than a week, it’s fine by me. It doesn’t have to take very long. Sorting out votes shouldn’t really be a problem either. If the two of you (sorry, can’t really keep track of who’s involved with this) need help, I’m glad to help out as well. I’ll have plenty of time soon.

Yeah. Comfy tho inside so not too bad.
I’m glad we never have to fear that you will end up in the circle of hell reserved for those who never liked the Beatles. That would be an awful place. Glad you ended up somewhere nicer.

I would like to suggest a new category, although since there is only one possible winner, and they may not want to see it included out of modesty, I ask others here to join me in demanding its inclusion.
“The Queen or King of current Beatle news.”
Who was it told us about BBC2, while some of us ummed and ahhed? For that alone, amongst so many other gems, someone needs an award.
Follow me. Demand it be included whether our organiser likes it or not!

Actually I came up with that one myself, but thought that as the organizer is the obvious winner, there wasn’t much point. On reflection, though, she deserves an award!

Excuse me! I discovered the Strawberry Fields gates story. mmm found one where he was happy to trumpet beating a certain someone to it. We are both in the running!
It is the “QUEEN or King”.
I’m not prejudging where the votes will go!
