Thursday night I dreamt that @WeepingAtlasCedars started sending me loads of messages, desperate to tell me everything about her life. She lived in England (possibly Birmingham) with her brother and divorced mother, had no friends, adored a girl who didn’t give her a second glance, was going to visit her estranged father, and kept a mockingbird in the sewer (mockingbirds don’t even live in England). a-hard-days-night-paul-10

Holy mackerel! I had no idea that WAC was a girl.

Lots of times I read something on this thread I think it’s a post of something that really happened until I look at what thread I’m in.  It’s when people don’t start their posts “I had a dream last night where…” or something, they just start typing as if it actually happened.

What is it with my subconscious and being Forumpudlians’ confidante?

As the dream expert I’m not, I’m going to conclude that this means you either deeply desire to be a confidante, or you deeply fear it.

I rarely remember my dreams but the last one I remembered was a strange one. I was hanging out with Thom Yorke like we were buddies and then a Radiohead song came on the radio. I started to well up with tears and said to Thom “This song always makes me cry”. Then I gave him a hug.  Thom looked a bit uncomfortable at this point.  End of dream. If there is a life lesson to be learned it is this.

Do not invade Thom Yorke’s personal space and don’t assume you’re his buddy.

We had all planned a giant BB get-together that was to take place in the city I live in. We were all driving around in cars, doing laps of a nearby park. Then, we went to the grocery store and split up into pairs to find things. I was paired with @Beatlebug; she looked a little older than me, with long dark hair. That was it. a-hard-days-night-john-7

I sure have been dreaming a lot about the grocery store lately.

I went to a folk festival, and Arlo Guthrie was performing ‘Alice’s Restaurant Massacree’. After the show, I asked him to teach me the guitar part, and unlike every other fantasy I’ve ever had about begging guitar lessons from my music idols, he agreed! Serious bragging rights, wouldn’t you agree?

I woke up with the song stuck in my head.

Okay. I’ll share one I had a few nights back –

It was pretty similar to the first few minutes A Hard Day’s Night . I was running away from a horde of girls (and several policemen too a-hard-days-night-ringo-7) , except it was  late at night and  it was in some jazzy place like Hong Kong or something. I was also running with several other guys,  and one of them looked like Brian Jones (funny because I mentioned him in another thread earlier that night). We finally split up in a clothes store. The others ran into the different aisles, while I just started hugging a random middle aged woman who was crying. Yeh. That was it. *Double confused Ringo face a-hard-days-night-ringo-7a-hard-days-night-ringo-7*

@natureaker had responded to this post, and I saw that her avatar was now a 4×4 grid of various album covers, including The Dark Side Of The Moon. Silly Dad wanted to do something similar, and I suggested he use the Abbey Road cover. I then went to share some tidbit about the photo shoot which, as soon as it left my mouth, I realised I must have dreamt. Then I put the beans in the pressure-cooker and ‘Pow R Toc H‘ started playing. It had an octave drone bassline (even though it doesn’t really, but the Floyd used them quite a few times so I must have got muddled). Then it turned, naturally, into ‘Careful With That Axe, Eugene‘ (which does have a notable octave drone bassline).

Then I was in the video, which was taking place on the Pink Floyd starship, and was utterly silly*. I was leaning over Roger Waters’s shoulder, looking at some bad sketches of mine which were sitting on the table. ‘They’re not my best work,’ said I, ruefully, and ‘No, they’re not,’ Roger agreed. ahdn_paul_01 Nick Mason (drummer) was sitting on the table ‘helping’ Rick Wright (keyboardist) play organ parts, and just then David Gilmour, who was sort of Captain Roger’s lieutenant, came running in from the control room with a report on the ship’s attitude. Roger said something stupid, and I tried to tell him to shut up, but autocorrect kept autocorrecting ‘Rog’ to ‘Rig’ (true story). And then, just as the dream was going to get interesting…

MY ALARM WENT OFF paul-mccartneypaul-mccartneypaul-mccartney

Next have I hated hearing the third verse of ‘Echoes’ so much! a-hard-days-night-ringo-13

*Probably inspired by a very silly drawing of mine in which the Floyd are in a starship and Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun.
