Didn’t know about this thread!
Piano/keyboards: teaching myself from 13yo but not amazingly competent. I just bought a 2-octave synth so it’s exercising those old braincells but unfortunately it’s monophonic so I can’t practice chords yet, I’ll get a polysynth for that 😀 Learning to use electronic hardware is fun. But I can play some Bach and I learnt Solace by Scott Joplin which is nice to play. Also if you are a pianist, try learning some Eric Satie, the Gymnopaedies suite is subtle and addictive.
Guitar/Bass: Again, taught myself when i was about 19. I’m not a great guitarist, I learnt to fingerpick though. I want to get an electric guitar cos they’re easier to play and I need one for songs. I’ve got a terrible acoustic that needs new strings, and I don’t play it enough. Bass I picked up at 20 and ended up in a few bands over the years. I’m pretty good, just not a virtuoso or anything, and I’ve gotten back into playing and practicing again in the last few years. Speaking of singing and playing bass, it’s really good to practice this, it helps free your sense of rhythm. I’m still trying to do some XTC and Police songs.
Ukulele: I’ve just picked this up a couple of months ago, and I love them. Great portable little things that make certain songs and chords really pop. I’m a little shocked at how easy it is to think in ukulele compared to my steel string guitar. Something odd going on there! Learn Gus Kahn songs! He wrote or co-wrote most of the good old 20’s standards.

I think I must be frustrated bass player although I haven’t really got a clue. I have a cheap bass guitar that doesn’t actually work if you connect it up but I’m just happy to play it quietly anyway. I haven’t tried ‘Money’ but my first attempt was David Bowie’s ‘China Girl’. It’s not that hard but good fun to learn. Paul always make his bass playing interesting, I can never resist pom poming along to Honey Pie .

I can also play the trumpet badly and I have a keyboard, although I can only play chords.

I’ve never taken any actual music lessons, but I’m planning on learning piano soon
Oh, and here I am over a month later, now I actually take piano! I don’t know much, but I’m working on it. Starting to learn a random, small piece with both hands

Keyboards & guitar. Funny tho, not until my 20’s. My friends that DID play guitar in the mid 60’s (high school) could never play along with the Beatles recordings, because G Martin hardly ever recorded them straight. SO, you had to keep re-tuning the guitar because he played with the variable speed, plus 60’s turntables were far from perfect. Somehow we survived pre-digital age music, tho. Thank God !

Yep, I’d know about that. Not the 60s turntable bit, but the fact that the Beatles were (almost) NEVER recorded in concert pitch, as far as I can tell– the Help ! album is especially flat.
