I've only recently taken up guitar, but I've been playing piano for about five, maybe six years. It's a lot of fun. I've been playing mouth organ since I was about four, but it runs in the family so I didn't really choose to play it. And I picked up bass in my first year of secondary school. 🙂

Drums are my first love. Had lessons in school grade 5-8. In high school they did not need any drummers, so I learned the trumpet & baritone horn. Self taught keyboards and guitar around that time. When I was about 12, I bought a used Beatles song book. A lot of the pictures were cut out. There was only one song in the book that was complete, “Something “. That was the first song I ever learned on guitar.
I still play guitar and keyboards a little. More of a hobby now. I only have one music book and it's The Beatles. What else is there?

I taught myself to play the guitar (mostly acoustic)about 14 years ago, and sing along with it, while playing the tambourine with my right foot.
My wife and I had a duo (“Two of us”!!), and sometimes we would do an evening of “Beatles experience” with about 40 songs (she played a hofner bass and sang). Today I perform solo in the street or on parties of all kinds and sizes. My repertoire is about 200 songs from the heart. My specialty is that I can play any song I know in any key.
Same goes for the piano, which I taught myself to play as well.
Since I started with an electric two-manual organ plus pedal I think I can count that as well.
I used to play bass in a rock band. Taught myself how to play it, mostly by playing along to Beatles and Supertramp albums!
The only instrument I got lessons in is the trumpet.
At school I teach children how to play the recorder, but I'm not that good at it.
I wish I had a drumset, then I guess I could play it, too.

At the moment I'm mostly drums and percussion, which can include a number of things. I can also play flute and some trumpet. I can fiddle around on a piano and know a few guitar chords, these instruments I would like to learn more in depth. After that is bass I suppose.

I only really play violin right now. (Unless you count a singing voice as an instrument.) But I'm trying to teach myself guitar, yet I don't have much time to make a lot of progress on it right now. Hopefully in the future I can take the time to actually learn.

I just had this image of Steve Martin playing his banjo. He always looked like he was having fun with it.

I mainly play guitar and I sing.
My bass playing has also become pretty decent, thanks to figuring out McCartney bass lines and I have some basic understanding of drums and piano, although I'm not at all good with them.

I played clarinet for a few years in middle school, so I can read music but I subsequently gave that up. I own lots of instruments; I start to learn one and then get bored and move on. It's terrible really, it just means that I am below average at bass guitar, ukulele, keyboard and melodica… And genuinely good at playing nothing!
I think it's great you're going through a phase,
and I'm awfully glad it'll all be over in a couple
