Nice job @The Hole Got Fixed that was a great listen. The music just keeps getting better. My 3 favorites were Full Moon Craze, Living On Borrowed Time (expected a lennon cover but really enjoyed the song nonetheless) and Inflammable Fuel. Some Bathtub Gin Alladin Sane esq piano playing. Perhaps some Cecil Taylor influence? I’m curious how that style came into the band.

Thanks @sir walter raleigh, glad you liked it. I also would name Inflammable Fuel in my top 3. That jazz influence came because we had just written a big-band style song for the musical we are writing, and immediately jammed to the chord progression.

I’m a simple man — I see an allusion to Bowie, I click…
Had a listen. It is indeed very Aladdin Sane and I quite enjoyed it — perfect atmosphere, methinks, for one of my little pet projects. May have to draw something about it later.

I have music on the internet but I don’t want to share the link because it has my name and I like to be private.
If you’re interested in hearing one or two songs I wrote (or co-wrote) and sang, let me know in a private message and maybe I can share on Google or something.
I don’t mind sharing my name with individuals. Just don’t want to put it here.

My new single, Luna.
It’s about someone who gets high, wakes up and finds out his girlfriend’s dead, only to realize he’s the one who killed her.
The B-side is a lovely acoustic cover of For No One with The Hole Got Fixed on vocals.

Just finished listening and i must say that i enjoy this over your band’s work.
Anyways, i thought i’d briefly review every track:
Road Trip is a nice opener, reminiscent of Magical Mystery Tour , but a bit weak compared to the other tracks.
Living A Lie is a nice ballad and i like how you were able to throw a Cm in there even though the key is E.
Raspberry Jam is a great instrumental.
Half Flush Guy is a good disco-ish track.
Family Of Four is good but the middle section feels barren without my guitar orchestration.
Was very surprised to see Stalker, considering it was on my album in January but this time it’s without my additional guitar parts and while i’m glad this version isn’t a 1:1 copy of mine, i feel my guitar parts helped out, especially during verse 1 and 2.
Give Us Some Rock is good but i don’t like how the 1st solo is after the 1st chorus and the 2nd one is after the 3rd chorus, it comes off as a bit unsettling since after hearing the 1st solo, you’re expecting a solo after the 2nd chorus but instead you’re treated with another verse.
Working Title is probably the worst track on the album, but that’s not saying much considering most of the songs on here are great and i still like this song, just not as much as the other ones.
Little Chloe has a nice Baroque pop feel to it, which i really dig considering it reminds me of Fixing A Hole , a song i know both of us enjoy quite a bit.
X, Y, Z is good and has a good riff.
Synaesthesia has to be the best track on the album and i’m impressed with the reverse guitar solo, those things are a real PITA to record.
You Can’t Not Like The Music is a good closer but there are gaps where there’s no vocals or solo, making it feel barren.
Overall, it’s a pretty good album and i can’t wait to see what’s next.

Wow, thanks for the review! Some good thoughts there.
Interesting to see that while I like space in my songs, you find those sections barren.
Also, you can think our very own @50yearslate for inspiration for Synaesthesia.

I didn’t have time to hear the whole thing, but I listened to Synaesthesia and really liked it! The reverse guitar solo was really cool and I like how you took inspiration from one of our very own forum members
Damn, y’all are making me kick myself for not putting any effort into my own music
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I’m glad you liked it! Inspiration happens at all sorts of moments, you gotta take it when it comes…

Do it. I can’t speak for other members but I do feel quite proud about some of my stuff, especially this one.
You get out what you put in – and it’s great fun putting it in.

I am always very jealous of those who have the imagination and ability to write and record their own material, even if I don’t necessarily like it. I’m listening to your album now though and I’m very impressed – there is something about your voice that – although it’s not brilliant – I really like. It really suits the material.
I’ve been trying to learn the guitar for the past fifteen years and doubt I’ve improved in ten.

I’m the first to admit I’m rarely in tune even 80% of the time lol – brilliant is definitely not a word I’d use to describe my singing, but I’m glad the texture works.
The one thing I’ve found with people who ‘can’t learn a guitar’ (and I’m looking at myself here) is that they haven’t found the right inspiration. I wasn’t getting anywhere trying to learn chords, and trying to change between them. So I tried just playing Beatles songs to see if that worked, and it did. Try playing stuff you really, really like – it’ll take you a while to get it right. Then move onto other songs you like – don’t bother with anything you find boring. Eventually you’ll be a pro. But before that happens, you will have the ability to write stuff. Everyone has the ability to write songs, they may just not have the skills to unlock it yet.

I’m aware of my limitations on the guitar, and the reasons why (i.e. not bothering to learn scales, rarely playing along with a track so I get the rhythm/timing accurate et al). I’ve tried writing songs, but whilst I’m always pretty happy with the words, the melody/music is always far too unimaginative due to my limitations. I’ve also tried recording stuff, but a lack of confidence has me singing/playing as though I expect somebody to walk in the room at any moment.
Really, I’d be happy to write lyrics and let somebody else put music/melody to the words.
