I’m bottom left for sure!
In some good news, my parents have both had the first dose – in some bad news, our federal government is so incompetent, we’ve only done 4.8 million vaccines, with just 2.7% of people fully vaccinated. At least that makes my parents unique!

I’ve been booked to get my first dose of Pfizer on the 13th! Very exciting indeed.
Got it! Never been more pleased to have a sore arm.

I had my first jab of the Moderna vaccine on Tuesday. I have had a slightly sore arm, but apart from that, I haven’t had any side effects so far. I’m still wearing my face mask when I go on a bus or in a shop.

been fully vaccinated for about two weeks now!
had no side effects aside from the stiff/tender arm, not that that would’ve stopped me
still gotta wear masks here for now, but I think that’s ending in my province next week

This is a very nice moment. Dame Sarah Gilbert invited to attend the opening day of Wimbledon in the Royal Box (alongside other health professionals), co-inventor of the AstraVenica vaccine, is given a standing ovation by Centre Court…

263 days of lockdown later, and the most locked down city in the world is finally out – this time, bar a calamity, for good.
If only the weather forecast was decent! Looks like I’ll be inside for a few more days yet.

My city lifted the indoor mask mandate today. It is now up to the individual businesses to decide. So far I have only seen a few people going naked. It is going to be a little weird for a while, as there are people I have relationships with for whom I have never seen their face. For instance, I have chatted with the barista at the Starbucks I go to almost every day for 2 years. We’ve discussed our kids, politics, our pets, etc… but I’ve never seen his smile. My daughter teased me that the first time I go to the grocery store without a mask, I better bring oxygen to help recover from holding my breath! I’ll probably toss all of my used masks except for these two.

It looks like things are calming down with the virus around my neck of the woods. Masks are at an all-time low. It looks like normalcy is coming back.

So, I’ve been to the grocery store a few times since the local indoor mask mandate was lifted. The first time it was about a 30-70 split favoring the maskers. Yesterday had changed to 60-40 favoring the non-maskers. I didn’t pick up on any bad vibes, so personal preference will probably prevail for a while. I’ve decided to wear a mask until the majority of the employees lose theirs, so we’ll see.
One thing that’s a little odd has been occurring at the store. Since about 6 months ago when I started shopping again, the cashiers have regularly not been charging me for all my items (usually the most expensive thing). They never say anything but it has happened enough times that it can’t just be a coincidence. A lot of the old timers quit during the pandemic, so most of the cashiers now are 20 somethings. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

My coworker texted me today to let me know she tested positive for Covid-19. She didn’t have symptoms until Saturday. I wasn’t in the office Wednesday-Thursday so I don’t think I caught it again. Once was enough!
Hope you feel better soon, @meanmistermustard.

Covid is a complete b*****d, let’s get that straight. I’m going from feeling fine and quite normal to suddenly coughing up god knows what and having what feels like 4 thousand liters of snot wanting out of my nose immediately (i take paracetamol and ibuprofen four times a day plus double hydrocortisone tablets). Sleeping is the hardest. However. I am enjoying the days. I rest a lot, as and when required, but decided to spend the days slowly doing jobs around the house that I never get around to like cleaning and tidying properly as in normal times I like and feel like I should be out doing life (I hate housework but TV is awful and the idea of watching it all day is horrendous). It’s good not having any requirements to do anything or be around anyone – I would hate to be doing isolation with someone as there is no escape except another room in the house. No idea how people lived together thru lockdown when it was minimal time outside.
To all with covid; get thru however you can. As with all other parts of life, admit when it’s s**t and do your best when possible. And when out of isolation and fit, go and celebrate however you want. Give yourself something to look forward to at the end.
I think I wrote back at the beginning of all this what John sang, and it still rings true

Day seven, two negatives in a row and I can be released.
Yesterday , day six, was the worst day as had done all the tasks I’d set myself and the thought of having a positive result today was horrible.
The plan today is to take it easy today, but get out for a good while, then tomorrow Glasgow for the day. Working over the weekend.
The entire covid system is atrocious by the way.
