And because she’s a politician Ms Ferrier will get away without a fine or anything…

Trump has tested positive for coronavirus.
Yes, this will be very interesting. So many different things could happen, but for the sake of everyone I hope he gets better.

For the sake of the whole of America. I sincerely hopes he makes a swift recovery, and perhaps learn something out of it. Hopefully, after facing head-on with the virus itself, it could convince him to do more against the virus and spread (at the very least) less misinformation out of it.
I know some of us chuckled at the irony – I know I did – but no one deserves to get the virus.

I have zero belief that anything will change if Trump recovers. He’ll still be a pompous, arrogant, lying, power-crazy, deluded, dangerous arse with next to no interest in those below him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he came out claiming that he survived and it wasn’t that bad so why worry, conveniently forgetting millions of Americans do not have access to nor can afford the care he received.

In a day and age of the many MP’s and such who forget to wear masks, break the rule of six or whatever the rules are in their county, it’s always good to know that you only have to look to Scotland to find the most stupid braindead MP who doesn’t just somehow forget a minor part of it (we all will in some way if we are honest) but goes all out to shatter every bone of guidance there is.People on BB I give you Margaret Ferrier, MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West, member of the SNP. Margaret had symptoms, took a test on Saturday, travelled to London on the train on Monday, spoke in the House of Commons, tested positive, travelled home on the train on Tuesday. To make it even more incredulous, she posted herself speaking in the HoC on the day she tested positive on the day the fine for breaking the rules was increased.
If that wasn’t even Margaret was one of the many MP’s demanding Dominic Cummings resign for travelling during lockdown whilst he should have been self-isolating.
But she has apologised so despite the SNP removing the whip and suspending her and everyone on the planet coming together to set aside their differences and agree she should resign, I still expect her to try to cling onto her position with every iota of her being.

She’s still there with the MET taking no further action, making any excuse possible to keep hold of being an MP (tho as an Independent as the SNP Whip was removed). All was a momentary lapse, no more a slight hiccup. I’ll be remembering that when I do something completely stupid and against the rules.

So, on 31 July, Victoria, the UK, and France all recorded roughly similar case numbers.
The difference was, we’d gone into a stage 4 lockdown the day before. The UK and france let it run rampant.
Today:
The UK recorded 23,012 cases with 174 deaths.
France recorded 45,422 cases and 137 deaths.
Victoria?
0 new cases, 0 deaths.
First time since 9 June.
Lockdowns work, people. Masks work, people. It helps the economy in the long run, too!

Despite all the whinging about Dan Andrews, Victoria has done amazingly well in this situation.

Looks like Boris could put England back into lockdown for a month as early as Monday. Schools, colleges and universities will be exempt (though most university students are already self-isolating in their student accommodation as the virus has already spread like wildfire among them).
If he does, it will be another example of “Why didn’t he do it earlier? His scientists were calling for it in September!”

Boris is due to give a press conference this afternoon. Definitely seems like another lockdown is on the way.

I just hope the measures the Government put it place are easy to understand and followed by as many people as possible. For the past six (or more) month there has been an acceptance to let people interpret the rules in whatever way they choose. Boris isn’t usually capable of delivering a clear message, but we can hope.

Everything to shut in England except places of education, essential shops and workplaces where working from home is not possible. Furlough extended to December.
Seems daft ignoring schools, colleges etc when the rate of infection is so high.

What makes even less sense is saying on Saturday that it’s important we go into another near total lockdown, and that it will come into effect on Thursday, nearly a fecking week later!!!!

Do they do it to give people/businesses/whoever to prepare? I mean, we were lucky Boris actually managed to make the announcement before Thursday…
