Went to the grocery store earlier and was very pleasantly impressed by the social distancing measures people are taking. Everyone else has finally taken up what I’ve been doing all along.

By which I meant I am introverted and like to have a 6ft radius of personal space because I hate being physically close to random people and so I’ve been practicing “social distancing” all my life
“21 John salute” hahaha I love it. Can we promote Captain Tom to Major yet?

Ahhh GirlI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

God bless his soul. Hopefully in due time, he might get a reward from the rest of society. I personally won’t be surprised if he get’s featured in Time’s cover.

My county’s parks department is shooting to open all of their pools (including the one at which I work) on June 13th (which is subsequent to change, obviously, but that’s the target date). The swim test that all applying lifeguards have to take (which includes me bc returning employees also have to take the aquatics test every year for some reason but I guess it makes sense) is still TBD though, which stresses me out because I haven’t swum since January oof…I also have to make sure that I haven’t lost the certificates that prove that I’m certified in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding…..
The parks department is also opening their golf courses this Friday, as well…..which I’m not too sure about but as long as they enforce social distancing and hygienic procedures I guess it’s ok?

As much as i would like for you to get your job back, i wish they would wait for another ~2 years until the virus is gone for good and give everyone paid leave in the meantime.
Even if the pool is properly maintained and enforces social distancing measures, it only takes one cough to get everyone in the pool sick and considering there’s people intentionally trying to spread the virus (or even pretending to), this can be very dangerous. Not to mention, wearing a face mask underwater can be deadly because the wet material will get stuck to your face in the same way a wet T shirt does and prevent you from breathing until you get it off so they’ll have to allow people to not wear one while in the water, which increases your chances of getting the virus.
If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.
