I took my niece to see Queen with Adam Lambert last fall. Show was great with lots of laser action and Brian May still plays with anthemic virtuosity. He does this little dance while he plays (sort of a British duck walk) that gives us older guys hope. He did one guitar solo based on a classical piece while he appeared to be flying atop a purple asteroid (see below). I thought Adam did a good job performing with Mercury’s energy and spirit. The crowd helped lift him up with lot’s of loud sing-a-long and choreographed hand gestures, that I only knew about from the recent movie. One thing I dug, sitting in front of us was a 12 year old Japanese girl and her straight-laced dad. She would fly out of her seat and shriek at the first note of practically every song. The surprised look on her dad’s face was priceless. After a touching Love of My Life (May sang while playing acoustic), Freddie appeared on the big screen to say F**k You with a huge smile on his face. The crowd seemed to have a cathartic experience beyond the usual tribute band thing.

A public service announcement…
There have been stupid stories on Twitter and other social media sites that 5G mobile phone technology can spread COVID-19, seeing 5G phone masts attacked.
I do hope that none of you are THAT FECKING STUPID. A digital phone signal cannot spread a physical virus, and attacking 5G masts because your idiot only make it more difficult to contact people.
I trust Forumpudlians know better because there’s few total idiots among us, apart from maybe… !!!! Better keep that to myself…

Why would anyone believe that? I can sort of understand people being paranoid about the devices that use 5G containing traces of the virus but to attack the 5G signal itself is about as logical as believeing that The X Factor can give you gangrene.
If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

For the first time, today’s album of the day…
One of my all time favourites. It makes me warm and gooey.
Mike Scott was chasing something he called the “Big Music”, much in common with Dylan’s “Wild Mercury Sound”. The 2006 remaster, some tracks appear in extended versions compared to the original 1988 album.
Have a listen and share the thoughts you thunk.

They definitely have a sound that isn’t heard too often in pop music, it’s a nice change. I quite liked the balance they strike of a softer style but not too soft that they’re all ballads. Very well put together, obviously by musicians who love their craft.

Join in folks! Nasty’s album of the day awaits thee!
I’ll listen to it tomorrow morning. it’s 2 am where I’m at and now it’s time to say good night (and by that I mean put on a podcast and shut my eyes but not actually sleep for an hour until I eventually drift off once my brain stop’s buzzing with thoughts)*
*See, this is what happens when I don’t take my melatonin gummies before bed! I’m not able to sleep so I just end up stalking forumpool and listening to music and watching pointless Netflix until 3 am! Welp, oh well, anyhoo………..
Looking forward to listening to it though

Perhaps some of the less-technologically savvy mistook the current trend of the coronavirus to be similar to the metaphorical computer “viruses”, or perhaps it’s the result of massive fear-mongering in this time of unease. Either way, I have partially lost faith in some part of my humanity. Please be advised not to listen to any form of virus-related news unless it has been approved by the government or by any prominent external authority in medicine (like the WHO).

Interesting album. I like their use of synths to provide the base melody that the vocals use as a base. Would like to hear more albums of the day by yourself.

I know Amanda Holden got involved by tweeting it and as soon as a celeb gets involved some people’s brains stop the ability of thinking for themselves and act like they have been zombified.

Interestingly enough, I find many people to be susceptible to the fallacy of inappropriate appeal to authority. Perhaps that is one of the more negative effects of celebrity worship as well as the use of social media to promote fallacious news.

For what it’s worth, I have heard that the WHO is pretty corrupt, actually. It’s difficult to know who to trust anymore, especially as no one really knows what’s actually going on, but some sources are definitely more trustworthy than others… sticking to government info seems wise, unless it’s a horribly corrupt government like the Chinese Communist Party

Apologies, Bebu, but that is as big a pile of steaming dog doodah as the idea that 5G masts can spread COVID-19. Most Governments are following, and sharing, WHO advice. Criticism of WHO advice is coming from those nutters who believe Governments shouldn’t be listening to them and advocating steps that damage the economy.
