Offline If I remember correctly, the album is a pretty awful listen with only ‘I Want It All’ being worthy of repeated listening.

Who said that?!?!
I’ll say it for all the world to hear. Insufferable band. Most of their 70s catalog is almost unlistenable. The movie about them was on the other day at my house and I was genuinely surprised why everybody was so positive about it. I thought that Freddie’s voice sounded terrible, which is usually the only redeeming quality about their music.

Offline The only thing about Queen that I absolutely cannot stand is “Bohemian Rhapsody.” It’s soooooooooooo overplayed it’s absolutely unbearable!

Offline hey! no! I like Queen! I mean, they’re no Beatles, obviously, but they have some very good songs! Bohemian Rhapsody is decent enough and ’39 is downright heavenly. I can’t speak for the film since I haven’t seen it but Queen is very good.

Offline Annoyed that all the Chinese takeaways bar my least favourite are closed. My least favourite used to be my favourite, had a fantastic menu, but then they cut the brave half of their menu and turned into every other Chinese takeaway, only with the disappointment that every time you order you remember a time it was so much better.
The choice is pretty much Indian or pizza. See there’s a couple of new Indians, one with 20% off. That’s probably what’s gonna be happening.

As a minor Queen fan, could you care to explain more? I’m interested to know more about your perspective of the band comparatively to the majority of the internet that seems to love them.

Perhaps you could learn some Chinese recipes to cook at home? Coming from a person of Chinese ethnicity all you really need is garlic, onions, soy sauce, eggs and rice and you can make pretty good fried rice. As my pap says: “With garlic, anything is possible”. Our family does really like garlic quite a bit, so his argument may be biased.

Offline Several forum friends convinced me to come back and help make this a better place. @Ron Nasty and @AppleScruffJunior were particularly convincing.
Over the last few days I was in bed with a fever and coronavirus-type symptoms and yesterday and the day before I had shortness of breath.
I had to go to the ER. I had visions of dying alone, quarantined in the local coronavirus hospital. The ER employees were very nervous. We weren’t allowed inside the building at all and the nurse saw me and took my vitals and did tests in the parking lot as I sat in the car. I visited with the doctor via iPad. And of course everyone wore masks.
I was diagnosed with acute bronchitis and “possible Covid-19.” The treatment for acute bronchitis is the same as that for Covid-19. They only test for Covid-19 if you have a fever of 99.4 or more, and the ER did not have tests available. I would have had to have driven 20 or so miles to be tested and then wait in a long line and be interviewed. The ER doctor said they would probably turn me away. I didn’t have a fever anymore, so I didn’t qualify to be tested.
I am now on mandatory 14-day self quarantine. The drugs are improving my breathing.
My wife and I had been sheltering at home for weeks and only went out for food. We are now having everything delivered.

I often do cook Chinese meals but having to cook it when you fancy putting your feet up and ordering in is annoying. The idea that a Chinese takeaway is off the menu for the foreseeable is just !!!!

Good to see you back, @Expert Textpert. Of course, no longer having a fever could be a good sign, show you’ve gone over the hill and you’re on the mend.
Annoying not knowing for definite (both our countries have been pretty crap at testing) but at least if it is/has been you’ll have immunity for a while. Probably.
