My confession is that I’ve been talking to imaginary John and George in my granny’s house for about a month now and I like to believe they do hear me although they’d probably be laughing at all the nonsense I say.Hope you don’t mind my asking — in English or Italian? And no, I don’t think you’re crazy. I talk to myself all the time, at least you’re talking to someone else (even if they’re not there).
I also find myself singing bits of Beatles’ songs when they’re on point in a certain situation like “I’m Only Sleeping ” when I don’t want to wake up, etc.
Don’t we all?
As for non-Beatles music I used to be a huge fan of Nirvana during the first years at upper secondary school and mostly progressive rock and grunge stuff anyway. Dad is a huge fan of Pink Floyd so I have a thing for some of their songs as well.
SOMEONE SAID PINK FLOYD
That’s how I got Floyded, as well — my dad is a fan, so I sort of got brainwashed; then, once I started exploring their stuff for myself, I became an even bigger fan than he is.
English xD I sound weird singing in my mothertongue :’D I tend to forget the lyrics most of the time though so I end up singing words that weren’t in the song in the first place 😀 I do talk to myself as well though so I’m glad I’m not alone 😛
Well, dad tends to suddenly break into miming the music parts at some point of the day. He knows all the lyrics but forgets the notes 😀 He’s been to one of Pink Floyd’s concerts with mum near his hometown in 1994 during the Division Bell tour and, although he loved them before as well he likes them even more now. His current favourite is the Atom Heart Mother album and Shine on You Crazy Diamond but he appreciates most of their opus whereas my favourite at the moment is Another brick in the wall, as much as it may sound dull 😀 Yours?

Well BeatleSoul, it’s a good thing you’re here and not losing your sanity due to social isolation while living with your gramdma.
Well, my granny passed away last year but I’m still living in her house at the moment. Beatles and Beatles Bible keep my sanity up to date though so you’re right about the first part xD

I talk to myself lots of times automatically when I’m alone. It’s awkward when someone comes in the room and asks who you’re talking to… I’ve started to pretend to be singing a song to myself when someone walks in…that seems a bit less mental.
Exactly! In my case it’s mum. For some reason I never hear her coming so when she opens the door I pretend I’m repeating Maths formulas or whatever I have to study because I’d just feel too awkward if she were to find out who I’m talking to :’D As for singing or playing guitar I go out and check that NO ONE is there and only when I’m 100% sure there really is no one behind the door and windows do I start singing or strumming intros.

I hope it was Tetley.
If there isn’t one already, someone should write a book about which brand(s) of tea (and coffee) each Beatle liked, drank on which day of their career, etc. Which brand of coffee did John Riley put the LSD in when he gave it to John, Cynthia, George, and Pattie? We hardcore Beatles fans want to know!

You and John, then! He always used to do that, to great effect.

^^Ooh yes, I approve, I love those.

Part I, II, III, or all of the above?
Never cared for them myself, and it’s not hardcore-fan-snobbery either, as I love other biggish hits like ‘Wish You Were Here’ and I do think The Dark Side Of The Moon is the greatest.
Yours?
Um… do you want a top ten, twenty, or favourite era?
Here’s my current top ten:
‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’
‘Breathe (In The Air)’
‘Echoes’
‘Comfortably Numb’
‘Green Is The Colour’
‘If’
‘Flaming’
‘Wish You Were Here’
‘A Pillow Of Winds’
‘Jugband Blues’
That was bloody difficult to narrow down, I hope you appreciate it

That’s perfect! I don’t know all of them because I’m still a newbie (dad always plays them on the radio but I’ve only got into them fairly recently). I will be sure to find the ones you listed that I haven’t yet listened to and check them out 😀
My favourite parts are always when you feel like something big is approaching, like the peak of the action or something similar. The music becomes tense, there’s suspense in the air, the volume rises, the musical instruments seem to play a scene in front of your eyes. Those are my favourite moments from Pink Floyd’s repertoire.
I’m glad I’m not alone in forgetting lyrics then :’D
Well, it depends on my mood really. Currently I’d say all of them but next week I might switch to dad’s favourites, then to others again, etc. xD

“And your inspiration, long may it last
May it come to you, time and time again.”So beautiful. I am tearing up.
I guess I’ll be off listening to this song. The lyrics look very well written and, although probably everyone on here has already listened to this song, it will be my first time, shame on me.
