As long as the subject has already been brought up, I confess I enjoy and support wildlife sanctuaries that house only those animals who would otherwise perish in the wild. A facility in Maine does a fabulous job of allowing those animals to survive and utilizes them to educate the public. More about the Maine Wildlife Park under the spoiler.
From the FAQ page:
How is the park different from a zoo?
The MWP is a Maine State government facility that functions as a wildlife education center. It operates as a non-profit to fulfill the Department’s conservation education mission, educating visitors about Maine’s fish and wildlife and how MDIFW manages these resources. Unlike a zoo, the park does not feature exotic species from outside our state; or breed wildlife in captivity. Our animals are named and/or numbered by staff for identification purposes. From an educational perspective, it is important to park staff to avoid humanizing them to preserve species “wild” integrity and the safety of the humans that co-exist with them.
What’s “wrong” with the animals? Where are they from? Will they be released back into the wild?
The majority of wildlife in our care are permanent, non-releasable residents that have been placed at the park for a variety of reasons, including human dependence, illegal human possession, as orphans, or with permanent injuries or amputations. Sources for these animals include wildlife rehabilitators, law enforcement, and other captive wildlife facilities. Our animals are generally not undergoing rehabilitation – they are here because they cannot survive in the wild and should not be released. They are given a place to live safely at the MWP, while serving as ambassadors for their species, educating thousands annually about Maine’s native wildlife.
Coincidentally, Zag found two baby opossums at the stables where we board Indy – one on Friday, the other on Saturday. Both were orphaned, scared and hungry. Both days, she delivered them to the nearest wildlife rehab center 51 miles away.

I confess I’ve been rereading ‘A Feast for Crows’ and ‘A Dance of Dragons’ by George R. R. Martin for 2 weeks now and I’m only 39% through the two of them :/
There are 119 chapters across the two of them and I’ve just finished 47. I have 25/46 chapters finished i.n Feast- so I’m 1/2 way through and I have 21/73 read for ‘Dance’.
I have read 407 pages in ‘Feast’ and 294 in ‘Dance’, that’s only 701 pages in 2 weeks and there’s 1893 pages in it so that’s 1192 pages left- yeesh.
It’s also the first time I’ve ever been behind on my Goodreads challenge, I’m currently one book behind 🙁
I have 6 books next to me from the library that are due early next week so I need to get them renewed. It’ll take me another week and a half or so if I continue at my regular pace rather than the super slow one that I’ve been going at, to finish it.
I blame ‘Dance’, stupid boring Dorne and boring Daenerys’ storyline
Get to Westeros lady!
Now I must get off here and go a-reading.

I confess I spend 99.99999% of my time stalking Instagram accounts.
So in a week time you spend 99.99999% of it on Instagram, then you have less than a second left of your week to sleep and eat.

I think little Gembo was being hyperbolic…
but it’s actually possible to do other things while you creep people’s instas. I sometimes creep people in the middle of a shower or in the middle of a meal, and sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night to creep people.

I’m only asking because I am not familiar with the terms for the words you both cite – forgive a not-so-old fart for asking.
When you say stalk and creep, does that mean you watch the accounts out of curiosity, similar to the appeal of reality TV? If I’m way off base, I don’t mind being educated.
Thanks in advance for your honest responses.

Well, it’s like, there’s an account with 200 posts, you go through them all, looking at each one closely, liking it, comenting on it, and looking at the location. Then you check there other accounts and the posts they’ve been tagged in and follow those accounts. Then you repeat the process over and over

Thanks.Again this is just me being curious and not fully understanding the appeal. Why would one want to stalk or creep another person? I’m not judging, I just don’t see the point.
Reasons vary depending on what person you’re creeping. For example, I have a couple cousins on Facebook who I creep to see cute pictures of their kids, then I have a friend that I creep on instagram because he’s just so cool that looking at his pictures makes me feel a little cooler, then there’s this girl I creep on tumblr because her love for LBJ makes my heart smile, then I creep my ex-teacher on insta because he is adorable and it makes me less sad that I will never see him again in my life, etc.

Is he perhaps the one with the fluffy puppy fur?

Haha, no, unfortunately I’ve never had the pleasure of touching this teacher’s hair, but I did shake his hand once and it was very soft.
