Confession: I tried to eat a Guinea pig
At least tell me the guinea pig was dead before you tried to eat it…..if not poor guinea pig.
Wise move to not eat it btw, you don’t know where it’s been!

It was alive…
They are farmed in parts of the world expressly in South America so it’s not too crazy to try and eat them.

Ah yeah if it was a farmed one, then that would be sound enough.
But if it was a pet, you don’t know when’s the last time/or if ever, it got wormed etc.
And the moral of the story is: Don’t eat pets!

What about my aunts cat…. I don’t like cats? 😀
Depends on the age, younger ones are more tender and older are more chewy. If you do plan on eating your aunt’s cat, make sure to kill it humanly before you start eating it.

talkiing bout eatin pets, eh? Actually i have a confession about something on topic…(no i did t eat an animal)
(This was like 6 years ago) so my dads ex and her kids owned 9 cats, 1 dog, fish, and a ferret. And the ferret stayed in the bathroom, and i sometimes hurt the ferret by like applying pressure on itsback or squeezing it. Looking back, i feel like poop for doing that, the ferret didnt do anything to me in the first place.

Confession: I tried to eat a Guinea pigI seriously hope you didnt. I despise cruelty to animals.
Wow, mmm, I didn’t know you were vegan!
its actually common in some parts of the world to eat Guinea pigs. I have a friend from Ecuador and she has eaten them. I think it’s pretty daft how some countries have limitations on what animals you can and can’t eat. Why do we pick and choose what animals we care about? I get that we shouldn’t eat human meat, but why is it illegal to eat horse meat? Who really cares about horses? And even the animals we don’t eat still get tested on in labs and are suffering worse than they would if they were to be eaten anyways.

If you are saying that just because I eat meat then i can have no opinion on animals being treated badly then I have no idea how to reply in a nice manner beyond this sentence.

It is because gembo said that they tried to eat guinea pig which is like I tried to eat steak or salmon.
So your comment looked like the very act of eating an animal is cruel.

The way Gembo posted clearly displayed the animal was alive; to put any animal thru such an experience when there is no requirement is needless and cruel in my opinion. Whilst I eat meat I would prefer the animals are killed in an as humane way as possible so there is no additional stress – tho I am very aware that the animal is being killed and therefore is not a pleasant time for it.
Whilst I’m happy to throw a beefburger on the grill or roast a chicken in the oven I won’t advocate or want to see a live cow thrown on a bonfire, nor do I want an elephant to be beaten, a lion kept in a cage 24/7 or a horse treated like crap and starved.
Maybe that is hypocritical but its better than not giving a s**t and turning a blind eye to animal cruelty.

^ It’s understandable mmm.
I bet you didn’t think all of this would come out of your sentence @Harrison7.
Better this than a post in Dreams or a handful of other threads on the forum.

I didn’t read everything gembo said. All I saw was that you were responding to him saying that he tried to eat a guinea pig, and since that’s all I saw I didn’t think any abuse was implied. Sorry if what I said came off as judgmental, I didn’t mean for it to be taken that way.
But just because you have opinions that animal abuse is bad does not necessarily mean that you are not turning a blind eye to animal abuse. I feel like you have to advocate against it and inform other people about what is happening, because what does having an opinion do for the animal? Unless you get your meat and stuff from nice farms that treat the animals nicely, or avoid zoos or buying from companies that do testing on animals, etc. (examples), then I guess you’re really not. Just something to think about…

I ensure all my eggs are free range, hate zoos (mentioned on here before), do everything I can to ensure where my food comes from is committed to proper animal care, and dont buy products that are tested on animals (as far as I know). Certainly wouldn’t if I did.
