Offline This could go in ‘Beatley Moments’ or a few other threads but since it’s Christmas themed (I may have posted before so it could be a Christmas repeat).
Every year I listen to the obscure Christmas album by The Spinner, ‘Sing Out, Shout With Joy’ (it’s part of my childhood), and it’s very cool there is a clear Beatles reference during the track ‘Kids Carols’.

Offline Curiously, I went back to see what I posted about Christmas last year, and it seems I’ve done the exact same thing again with forgetting Christmas Jimmy, and at almost the same time too! What a weird coincidence. 
Anyways, my holiday plans will be pretty much the same as they always are: Just our household, but with my uncle likely popping over for a bit at some point. Thankfully I was able to get all my shopping and wrapping done about a week ago, though I still have a few other things to do before the big day, so I’ve been working on those.

My family and I will be spending Christmas at home, but we will visit my Grandparents and my sister in the morning. She usually spends Christmas at their house every year. On Boxing Day, my Auntie, my Uncle and my cousins will be visiting us. I’m looking forward to it.

Somehow, despite working retail and having to suffer through endless repeat plays of “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and a tragic insipid cover of “Wonderful Christmastime “, I am still feeling the Christmas spirit (and I still love the original “Wonderful Christmastime ” ). I absolutely love buying/making and wrapping presents for my family and friends. In fact, I was so busy getting things together for other people that I forgot to compile and broadcast my own Christmas wants, but oh well, I’ll just buy myself belated Christmas presents when I get around to it* (and my birthday is only a couple months away anyway)

Offline Having thought it through, for the first time in a few years I decided not to work Christmas this year and instead have booked a hotel in Glasgow. Not sure if I’ll bother with a Christmas tree therefore.
I dread the Christmas/New Year period; the weather is generally horrible, I have no desire to go visit people as it’s damn awkward for everyone involved, the same 20 songs are repeated infinitely, and everyone expects you to be delighted to receive crap you don’t want, need or ask for. It’s not the case that everyone loves this time of year and it shouldn’t be met with “oh you’re just a misery”. So I will hole up in a hotel and get thru somehow.

Offline The same 10 songs that get repeated aren’t the best tunes though. My favorite part of the holiday season is sitting at the piano and playing through the Christmas Real Book, as well as Guaraldi’s Charlie Brown Christmas. This year i’ve been super into any non-Chipmunked version of Christmas Don’t Be Late, (even the chipmunks to a nice version).
